The Rapid Growth Of Onitsha Main Market Without Riverport. by horsepower102(op):
Credit to Gboozatv for capturing onitsha main market in a way never seen before.

Onitsha Main market is said by many to be the biggest market in West and central Africa. This market predates the colonial times.

Even without having a river port for decades, it defied all expectations. It has continued to grow from strength to strength. This market has created so many rich men and have brought together various groups from Nigeria and surrounding African countries to come and trade.

According to the NPA in 2018, over 60% of cargos that come into Nigeria ends up in Onitsha.

Interesting. Onitsha has a very bright future with activities now going on in the river port. I find the layout too chaotic though.

Ndi afoezi don't know what is waiting for them. They will regret ever having to wake a sleeping lion. Now the most beautiful people and the most honest and hardworking black tribe in the world is about to expose the entire Nigeria, while gaining intl support for themselves. Don't you see that Ndigbo has been successful in lobbying the white house to place Nigeria on religious banhuh That law takes effect this December and that's why we pray that Trump wins a second term. Because our lobby team in Washington is fighting hard to make things sorry for ndi nigeria. We will so deal with these renegade afoezis that they wouldn't know what hit them.

My vision for the future of main market.

1) make it a special governed district.

2) foot traffic only no cars allowed on its roads.

3) Sanitation agency is a must and will be payed for by the business owners.

4) completely paved roads and underground drainage.

5) build a water front park where shoppers can go relax. It will also have multiple restaurants in that area.

6) make it a 24 hour market and let it have its own electricity generation.

We have to start looking to the future. It’s time to modernize main market so that one day, tourists from all over the world can come there to visit and shop.
