Farooq kperogi

International flights are supposed to be suspended until August 29. But Mamman Daura was allowed to fly to London on August 19 for medical treatment, according to Sahara Reporters. But LEADERSHIP newspaper, the unbearably illiterate propaganda rag of the Buhari regime, said Daura travelled to London only for a “scheduled business trip”!

What business trip can’t wait until the airspace is officially reopened?

What business is taking place in London amid the raging coronavirus pandemic that warrants flouting Nigeria’s aviation law with such impunity?

Is this an admission that the Buhari junta has taken impunity, double standard, and reckless disregard for its own rules as official state policy?

Well, if Sahara Reporters is right, as it always is in matters like this, it means Mamman Daura is probably in a grave medical emergency and wanted to avoid having to deal with the medical dysfunction at home that his uncle has done nothing to halt and that caused many of his fellow Aso Rock cabalists to die recently.

Unfortunately, death is no respecter of our wealth, access, and privilege.

In his last letter to Nigeria before his death, Abba Kyari said, “I hope to be back at my desk very soon.”

Unfortunately, nature didn’t share in his self-construal of his invincibility and outsised importance.

Someone very close to the Presidential Task Force confided in me that arrangements had been concluded to fly Abba Kyari to Germany in a presidential jet when his condition took a turn for the worse.

But German government officials said they couldn’t deal with the fall-out of his hospitalisation in their country if it became public knowledge that they allowed a COVID-19 victim from Nigeria into their country while the airspace was closed.

Nigerian elites subsist on self-interested lawlessness all the time to advance themselves at the expense of the rest of the country, but this attitude has assumed epidemic proportions in the past five years. For instance, Sahara Reporters also reported on August 7 that Aisha Buhari was flown to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates to treat a neck sprain while the airspace was closed to everybody else.

No country whose leaders flagrantly undermine the laws they make and imperil the systems that give the country life, like the henchmen of the Buhari junta do habitually, can endure.

Most importantly, though, when pampered and privileged fat cats like Mamman Daura lie about their health and the medical tourism they embark on to take care of themselves while the vast majority of everyday people are crushed by preventable illnesses at home, they rob themselves of posthumous compassion in the event of their deaths.

Instead of these pple fixing a single hospital as result of the lesson Corona virus has taught them, they still prefer leaving our hospitals in shambles to fly out to foreign countries. Leaders without foresight

The Presidency have shown so much disrespect for Nigerians. Allowing some individuals live as though above the law is one of the heights.

The government keep on breaking it own laws & records with utter contempt and impunity while treating the down trodden Nigeria with no respect.Of course, "all animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others."

How can they ban international flight yet Mamman Daura will still be flown out? Femi Adeshina was boasting of improved healthcare & facilities ystdy but does it mean the president's nephew cant be first hand beneficiary of such feats?

What about the #3B forsaken Aso Rock Clinic or are they now afraid of our own First Cardiology Clinic that COVID-19 forced them to use? Well, what they never envisage is that abuse of power always comes with inevitable consequences whether by nature or the almighty.

It's issues like these that show the true nature of the clowns in power. Unfortunately, their ineptitude is not funny.

Double standards & hypocrisy remains their forte...

Buhari could care less if hospitals are not built, if hospitals lack drugs and basic equipment; his concern is his immediate family and cronies. A leader with a stony heart.

It's rather disgraceful the way the so called elites flouts the laws. An individual close to the president behaving so reckless and yet they still have the guts to defend him. I wonder which business trip he went for? business that couldn't be conducted online abi? business that couldn't wait for two more weeks. They still believe that people would trust them. I've lost my faith in this country and it's leadership, it's better to work on and for yourself to live your best life, rather than waiting for individuals who in truth have nothing to offer.

Sad indeed

But before one rushes to type the usual pointless insults directed at the government that is usual this forum let us for once ask some key questions.

Who do we blame for this lack or rather total indifference toward the need to fix our ailing healthcare system ?

The fact that this man still had the gaul travel abroad at this time, when every country is fighting to fix their health care system? Is it an indifference towards the Nigerian people's opinions? After all if I travel wetin Dem fit do.. or is it that the government doesn't understand the need to show some semblance of decency and will to fix things to its citizens?

What is the root cause of this shame and brazen indifference towards it citizens we see everyday from the Nigerian government?

Remember this same government is made up of you and I? Some members here have wives ,aunts, uncles, sibblings , cousins etc working in the corridors of power.. so why then if the government is so close to the people, why then Does it seem so hard for the government to display sincerity of purpose or at the very least shame.

I have come to the conclusion that ranting online , cursing at the beer palour and having a non challant attitude towards this government is not helping us.

Maybe it's time the Nigerian people understand what Hilary Clinton meant when she said then that "Nigerian people are not ready for change, when they are they know what to do" they will figure out how to take their destiny in their own hands"
