I never enrolled for the national identity card/number, but when I log into my internet banking platform it displays some information among which is my NIN. The bank is GT bank. I wanted to chat them up, but the live chat feature isn't working this morning. I don't know when last it worked anyway.

Is there any other way to get this number without enrolling for it?

If you have BVN then you probably also have NIN

NIN is generated for you the moment you registered for your BVN. It is linked together.

Nin is generated for you to track your finances however the nin cannot be used by you yet until you go to nimc office for biometrics and harmonization.. The NIN you see is the one generated for you using your BVN and it won't change even when you eventually go for your biometrics at nimc office.. I will implore you do that quick

Thanks for the explanation. The beaurocratic process of Nigeria gets non my nerves. I hear people don't even get their cards even after many years of doing the biometrics.
I will try to do the biometrics next week. So, if I may ask, when I get there do I have to tell them about this one that appears on my account?

Hmm... that account is quite old. I opened it as a first year student at the university many years ago. I guess I must have used some sort of ID then.
