Killing : Is It Wrong ? by TheSourcerer(op): 7:01pm On Aug 22, 2020
What do Atheists feel about Killing others , since it was a ' law ' from God we should not kill our fellow beigns .

Now let's take a look at our Society , in fact the whole world
The percentage of a ritual killer been Theist ( following a specific spiritual diety or dieties) is 99.9
The percentage of a Murder Suspect been a theist is 90.8
The percentage of a Sucide bomber been a theist is 100

If you need God to stop you from killing then , you really should check what you are ..

Why would an Atheist want to end a life?
The Atheist knows , we live and die here , no after life so why waste a beign will so much potential to the future ?
There something called 'Morality '
And morality again is subjective
Do I need a God to tell me stealing something that is not mine is wrong?

Africa before the Religious invasion had little incident of thieves , now with the advent of religion and the ' holy spirit ' there are still thieves now .they always were here , people who would steal would steal those who would kill would kill .
If you were born in a world without the commandment 'thou shall not kill '
Would you just start killing people ? How would you be born ?
The same way not all animals kill themselves
So do we have those anomalies who kill other humans

If God is so against killings , theivings
So why did God create kleptomaniacs ?
Why did God create Serial killers
These are their biological makeup to see and kill , so are serial rapists .

This question has been written a while ago, yet there are no answers I think are satisfactory. Many seem offended by the very question. But it is a legitimate question. Most of what we choose to do or not do that's important (and we're talking of a life or death issue here) should have good justifications. If you are unable to explain why you did or did not do something of major importance, then you did not think about the choice you have made, or not very well at the very least.

Almost everyone on Earth considers murder wrong. Murder is by definition the unlawful killing of a human being according to the law of the country you reside in. But the heart of the matter lies not in legality. It lies in the action of killing an other human being, usually on purpose. This is what most people think murder is. It does not matter whether killing someone is sanctioned by law. Killing someone is killing someone. What makes it wrong? I can think of many different reasons:

-The Golden rule: don't do to others what you don't want done to you. This is the most obvious one.

-Society is based on trusting each other enough that we can collaborate and work together. If killing is prevalent enough, society breaks down and that makes our lifes collectively much more difficult, which most of us don't want.

-It causes grief to people around the victim and the killer. Killing someone doesn't only hurt the victim, it hurts many more people too.

-It constitutes taking away someone's right to choose for themselves and takes away their ability to do anything. In that regard, assisted suicide is not the same as killing someone against their will.

-It is, to date, irreversible. If you kill someone, you cannot unkill them, and there are no reparations you can do that can make up for it. You can only be killed once. If you stand back up, or survive a killing attempt, then you were not killed. Killing being irreversible makes it an ultimate decision. It does not make it wrong in and of itself, but it does really highlight the importance and the weight of the decision to kill or not to kill.

-Context matters a lot. This is why there are legal exceptions and distinctions do different sorts of killings. Murder has to be willful. Otherwise it is manslaughter. In some instances, killing an other person can go with lesser consequences if there was no other choice, such as self-defense in a context where deadly force was the only way to not get killed, yourself. (An extreme, invented example of this would be if a mass shooter started unloading mags at a restaurant, and you managed to snuck behind him and shatter a bar stool behind his head, fracturing his or her skull.) Other, more controversial contexts, can make the morality of killing neither black nor white, but generally, avoiding to kill is the preferred option and killing is a last resort.

Those are, I think, the main and major reasons of why killing is universally considered to be wrong. The essence of those reasons is: we don't want it, and it cannot be repaired. So don't do it. Laws are based on that, with exceptions based on circumstances and convenience for the state. For instance, a soldier killing someone in a war as instructed to him or her is not considered murder because it is done lawfully. However, the same soldier killing a civilian just for fun is unlawful, and thus considered murder. Calling something “murder” doesn't make it right or wrong. It expresses the legal status of the action taken. But all in all, I think my points all need to be considered very carefully in order to determine if killing someone is moral or not, especially in questions pertaining to things like euthanasia or abortion.
