The Bible is the most misunderstood book ever written. Anyone can form a doctrine and back it up with the Bible. Due to man's imperfection the bible is translated and interpreted differently.

This has been a serious challenge to Christianity. In fact it is the reason why Christianity is divided and our churches with many denomination.

In the 4th century, the Greek orthodox church separated from the Latin Roman church which later forms the
Roman Catholic Church.

The major break in Christianity is the Protestant Reformation leading to separation from Roman Catholics in 16th century.

After this,many denominations broke out from the Protestants all is due to ones interpretation of the bible(since the Bible is the most misunderstood book ever written)

Lutheranism

Calvinism

Jehovah's Witness

Latter day saints(Mormon)

Christ scientists

Quaker

In the 18th century,
Evangelicalism, Fundamentalism,Liberalism, Unitarianism, and Pentecostalism emerged.
Today there are about 41,000 Denominations.
