@ eGuerrilla

Thanks for providing some extra data on the subject, however my initial intention was to highlight the oldest 10 but i guess it's OK to find out at least the 25 oldest secondary schools in Nigeria to give them some sort of exclusivity.

These schools are the foundation of education in this country and they deserve due recognition. On a side issue i really doubt if Sapele Urban District Council School and Bida School were de facto secondary schools at the time of their formation. I remain to be corrected on this.

So which secondary schools are the 25 oldest in Nigeria ?

You are probably right about the school in Bida.
While it absolutely clear there was an elementary school named St John's in the town at that time, like you, I am now a little circumspect on the idea that 2nd level education was also provided. In a  'A history of the Nupe people' written by Mohammed Kuta Yahaya, there is evidence this school was in operation, as some of its students are named, but one is also left with the impression that it served as a feeder to secondary schools elsewhere.

Methodist College, Uzuakoli was founded in 1923, so it actually dislodges Dennis Memorial  from the list of 10.
So does Barewa College (in Zaria) actually owes its origins to Katsina College, founded in 1921 --- http://www.luggaweb.com/book_college.html

Some insight and contribution to this list will be appreciated as it appears a few schools have been missed out albeit unintentionally.

Qualifying schools should be pre-1945.

From Kuramo and eGuerrilla, I believe this is the authentic list below of the 10 oldest secondary schools in NIGERIA. Note that Sapele urban is thought to be a primary school. If you have any data to the contrary, please let us know.

The school must be older than 1913.
