This act needs to stop. Seriously almost every meter u go u see an autonomous community with it's own king. The moment a village is becoming developed and maybe one clan is doing better than the other but the other clan is holding leadership. Next thing u know the clan doing better starts advocating to form it's own autonomous community.

This act really needs to stop, this proliferation of autonomous community is part of what's finishing land in our region.

If for example a community of 50 plots of land with amenities like church, community hall, palace, houses scattered within it, since the community has a large land mass those amenities will be scattered and their would still be lots of land for other things in the area example agriculture since it's a rural area.

But once that community divides into maybe 2 u have 2 autonomous communities and they start building their own separate Hall's, churches palace, market etc. The land keeps diminishing with no real added value to it
You're right.

These autonomous communities are very ignorant and self destructive. Right now 1/5 families is 'HRH'. Like you pointed out it wastes land and worst it creates a situation of preference so that now if you want to build something in another 'autonomous community' your people will push back even though that 'autonomous community' is part of your town. We just became an autonomous community and it's sad because our space is a market and a few families. Yet to see the benefit as nothing has changed, but instead people feel more divided among themselves.

What is the cause for the prevalence of autonomous communites in Abia and Imo ?

U advise federal government to allow international flights in Imo when port Harcourt international airport is less than 2hours drive away same with Enugu airport?

To me since Imo state has alot of educated people they should train them in tech and agriculture.

Since our land mass is small animal husbandry won't be bad. We should try and divert the culture of livestock always coming from the north. We too can also produce live stock.

We should also try to stop this Yahoo lifestyle. Imo youths are no longer entrepreneur minded, instead of them to develop plans on how to become the next big thing. They develop further plans on how to discover new internet scam ways.

Apart from government and private sector. I discovered that in owerri fraud is the next biggest employer

Thank you my brother

Everyone wants to be a king and -allegedly- gov money is sent directly to your Aut. community for development, though, again, idk who gets it, how much and what the impact is.

Lets change our mentality about airports. A country or town can have as many airports as it wants. An airport is nothing more than a run-way, and a station for boarding. It's a big bus station. It's not something that's supposed to be scarce and we need more people off the road and in the air. Many American cities have 2-3. Let every state in Igboland have one, it does no harm. These are the airports in and around Columbus Ohio alone

8 miles to Port Columbus International Airport.
72 miles to James M. Cox Dayton International Airport.
126 miles to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
132 miles to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
159 miles to Fort Wayne International Airport.

5 international airports surrounding one mid-sized city. Lets stop thinking an airport is equal to a nuclear power plant or mission to the moon.

@proeast says I want Orlu to be on the level of Owerri, therefore I am onye ara.

What will @proeast lose if Orlu develops like Owerri or even better than Owerri?

In a society of saner people, is @proeast not the real onye ara?

Umuahia for example was developed more than Owerri before 1976 when Imo state was created.

But Owerri has now surpassed Umuahia in development and urban expansion.

Ignorance added to primitive greed is ...
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by kikake: 9:56pm On Aug 24, 2020
Unarguably, Owerri had to surpass Umuahia in modern development and urban expansion because governors of Abia state have had Aba and Umuahia to provide with requisite urban development infrastructures.

But as Owerri hosts nearly all development institutions in Imo state, state governors have consistently faced only Owerri for urban development infrastructures. The governors even reduced Orlu and Okigwe to rural status for their convenience and to the satisfaction of the NARROW MINDED @proeasts of Imo state.

So many industries are functioning and employing people but you will never see them because you suffer from self hate and inferiority complex if indeed you're from Imo. As at early 2019 Imo State was the fastest developing State in Nigeria and rated the best governed State but some of you were denying the truth and trying to say NBS was wrong because Okorocha was in power but look right now what we are. The State with highest level of unemployment in just a year.

https://nairametrics.com/2019/04/26/breaking-states-unemployment-data-reveals-20-9m-nigerians-are-unemployed/

Can you please mention the companies, where they are located and what they are into so we can verify.
Do we have reliable and verifiable data? Most data churned out in Nigeria are false and geared towards political correctness and to score cheap political points.

It's because of the too many autonomous communities that made the money govt sends to be almost useless to the communities and the communities have to look for donors for anything they want to build.

This is the reason why alot of Kings in the state seem like they are poor

Dedetwo,

proeast, & co.

So long as you believe in having Owerri many years of modern development ahead of Orlu and rest of Imo state, you shall have no sleep, neither online or on your beds.

I have travelled all over the world
, there is no country or region with the type of disparity in development standard between towns and villages, like we have in Imo state.

Owerri seizes all instruments that bring about modern development all for Owerri in Imo state.

You and your siblings must have attended tertiary education institutions scattered all over Owerri from your homes, saved money and get mass education in Owerri zone.
How do you rest in Owerri seeing that the advantages of closeness to tertiary education institutions that natives of Owerri enjoy are not available to natives of the other zones in Imo state? Most greedy and primitive lot.

Mr. World tripper, how many urban cities are there in Rivers State? I had to bust your bubble and rain on your parade, I did not even attend primary or secondary school in Owerri talk less tertiary institution. With people better than you, Orlu can develop along the same stride with Owerri. Stop your silly protest of calumny against Owerri. You sound so pathetic for a loser.

If you think hotelling is not a good business, please go and build your industry in owerri....Stop suggesting to people how to invest their money...make your own money and establish plastic factories, chocolate factories and so much more....while others concentrates on what rocks their boats.....

Snapping substandard roads and other shoddy jobs which does not engender human and capital development are not the hallmark of development.

You guys should quit this boot-licking and sycophancy. The government is elected to construct roads, build bridges, provide functional and equipped hospitals and schools, create jobs and provide enabling environment for private businesses to thrive. How many enduring legacies and infrastructure do we have in Imo state?

Orlu and Okigwe are glorified urban settlements that lack basic amenities; even Owerri the state capital is grappling with poor infrastructure; how many years has MCC road, Chukwuma Nwoha etc been under construction? How many industries are functioning and employing people in the state? Even state owned factories like Ada palm, Avutu poultry, the ceramics company and even Concorde hotels have been run aground and sold off to cronies.

You guys have to wake up cos the dagger that did the damage still drips with blood.

Nearly 90% of all posts about ongoing events in Imo state is on Owerri state capital. Our governors have been building Owerri state capital for decades. Other parts of the state have been left far behind the state capital in terms of infrastructures and government institutions that induce development wherever found.
ABNORMAL people don’t have problems with that.
BUT NORMAL people must raise issues over that and mention other parts of Imo state abandoned.

In bold:
In Imo state? Or in Owerri?

Since 2007, crooks in high government posts set out to put Imo state in place of Owerri - as their online agents do online display of government development projects in Owerri but call it Imo state. Advanced 419.

What happened to monies that should have gone to provide public infrastructures to rest of Imo outside the state capital?

Their game must be checked; even though their game benefits a few NARROW MINDED persons whose communities in the state capital are favored by the game.

That thing na real local thinking.

Just that the southeast is homogenous if this was to happen in other states that have other Tribes like Delta or rivers problem for dae by now.

U hardly see a double lane state road outside owerri.

The lack of development in other lg's have made most of the local government chairmen relocate to owerri and run their local government from there.

In my community in mbano that has opened up for ages, it was just after one of our son got FG appointment that we saw roads from NDDC Tony Chukwu himself

The senator representing okigwe zone Benjamin uwajumogwu has been dead since last year until now they have not held an election for his replacement.

A sonofabitch would dread saying that before better informed persons.
