My friend's child who is 14 calls his uncle a "dickhed" in front of his elders and everybody just sigh in relief.

We do want a sane country, lots need to change in Nigeria but there are good things about Nigeria like community share of responsibility. Like people can easily dash you N5000 when they see you hungry but In a developed country someone who looks hungry doesn't get a dime, there are exceptions though.

You can get through many things in Nigeria.

So-called "African culture" hasn't taken Nigeria anywhere. The government is corrupt and the people are just as corrupt or even more so. Not really anything to be proud of.

Please how do I set up google free 1 year vps or Amazon?
GonFreecss1:

AWS solutions architect
Microsoft professional certifications
Google cloud architect etc
CISA, CISSP, CISM route - can be helpful too.
OSCP

Some of these are quite good, my advice will be learn the practical aspect of it and do small projects by yourself, create a website with the small projects. Have a networking lab at home (even if it’s just your laptop with many VM’s) learn something as basic as making VPN’s using VPS, learn about cloud, host a site on an old android phone or raspberry pi, learn the 7 networking layers religiously, take advantage of free tier AWS VPs hosting and attend their webinars to get free 25 USD credits get the certificate of attendance... join Cybersecurity learning platforms like Cybrary (Could help career wise too), learn the legal intricacies of IT security and all those ISO stuff...

If you immerse yourself, and have one or 2 of this certifications you can have a better chance and even begin to understand more.

The problem is there are no entry level Cybersecurity roles so you have to create that experience for yourself as you get some certifications. I like AWS certifications, because you can use the free credits to do some practicals on their VPS...

So many other stuffs I cannot remember for now.

Hian, resetting slap ke, dem go call CPS( child protection service) for you to take your child from you,

l visited Montreal in 2008 and I was with a Haitian family friend during my brief vacation visit , the school the young daughter of about 8 years old attends was asking the daughter if she is been beaten at home, they were planning to come and take the child away from my friend to a foster home

We have several cases of kids been taken away by CPS sometimes under spurious unfounded allegations to foster homes

Although, I also think that some parents don't know how / when to draw the thin line between discipline /angry caning/ best methods to teach and correct kids so CPS has taken advantage of that and have taken several kids away from their biological parents angry

This 3 issues can lead and put people into serious problems in the western world <>>>>> the way you treat your wife (abuse and if she calls olokpa) , kids (beating / koboko) cat and dogs (neglect and abuse) cheesy

Let's say he paid with his own 1k.
This means the transaction with the shop owner was smooth.
The shop owner only lost the stolen 1k.

Not true. It's only 1000.
Let's assume the thief/customer returned the stolen 1000 at the point of trying to buy with it.
Then, the shop owner, after receiving his lost 1000, went ahead to "dash" him 700 worth of goods and 300 in cash.
With this, what the shop owner lost was the "free" goods worth 700 and the 300 cash, totalling 1000 naira.

I strongly disagree. The N1000 belongs to the store owner originally.

You cannot make assumptions when the facts are clearly spelt out

as you said, the facts are clearly spelt out...
the initial 1k cash stolen from the cash register has returned to the cash register, so the only loss the store owner made is the N700 good sold and the N300 change given

Well, like in everything else, a multi pronged approach offers the best chance. He may not respond to you, my pep talk may be what sets him on his feet again. The result will be the same : He starts feeling a bit better.
If that happens, we would all be the better for it. Dont you think so?

in other news, will you ever run out of names? what will it be next? rotten mango? bellend? who knows

Well, let's see how therapy will help him, that's if he will be bold enough to pay for it whereas he could have just been more realistic and use part of that therapy money to better his life and career.
You think therapy is cheap? It's not, atleast not to someone complaining of stagnation.
As for the names, most of them refer to some things about my life, one way or the other.
You won't understand yet,trust me.

I can teach you mathematics for free, bros.

In maths, when you say: let x represents ...., and y represents....., that's an assumption.

Look at what the thief gained/left with(which are 700 worth of goods and 300 cash==1000).
This is exactly what the shop owner lost.

Owner's loss = thief's gain.

bros this is simple, the guy didn't steal the good and change, he only stole 1000 Na. Replace the scenario with your self, if you loose 1k and the person use it to shop in another man's shop, do the shop owner loose anything, the answer is No, so why will you loose your goods and change when it's obvious you collect money from the guy. It's a simple stuff na. The goods and change were not stolen, it's only 1000 naira that was stolen.

Assuming the store owner have 1300 naira in his cash box, now you stole 1k and it remain 300, you use the 1k to buy something, he gave you the goods and give you 300 naira change. Then he collect 1k from you. How much did he have in his pocket 1k how much is he suppose to have if you didn't steal from him 2k. How much is missing, 2k minus 1k equals 1k, that's what is missing.

Depending on the area. 2 or 3 bedroom flats or better still self-contain(1 bedroom) apartments. I recently saw a storey building that was formerly face-i-face-you. Somebody bought it and converted it to a self contain (a room, a sitting room, kitchen, toilet and bathroom). All of them are occupied with young couples and working young bachelors. There is privacy for each person. The owner even created a space somewhere for generator compartment for each.
