I can remember owning rabbits spanning into 79 on last count. Funny enough, I never for once ate my rabbits cause I grew so attached to them. Well, I sold them to colleagues back them in secondary school for practicals and made enough money to buy knockouts for festive periods .
Unfortunately, I had to release everything into the wild when I got admission into the university . No one at home had that time to go cutting grasses for them. walahi, it was dam.n stressful.
I just may end rounding up the year by kick starting my rabbit keeping back. . . chai!!! 21 years after

please do.. we need more people to help hype up the business

... sunflower leaf..they eat mostly the young part..the new leaves up to the stalk..

Is it our local sunflower plants here? I have 4 rabbits and I am running out of tridax since we haven't seen rain for well over a month.

yup.. give it to them..
Check around for grass..give them a stranded if they accept it then feed them with it

How do you intend to get the urine?

Are you going to connect a pipe to their urinary tract?

Yesterday I gave them variety of foods in large quantity to try to check out what they would prefer..
But from today, I'm just going to measure an amount for them in the morning abd same in the evening.

Okay, thanks. My rabbits quickly eat the ones I give them in the mornings and start looking like they wouldn't mind some more, even though they sometimes remain some that they eat later. That's why I am asking about the number of times they should eat in a day.

ok man... One of my does..the less agile one flips the feed plate over when it's done eating... It's annoying.. would have flipped water too if it wasn't a heavy plate.. loves sleeping on the grass, maybe it's Because inwet the grass before giving them...the other two don't give me problems they eat and when they are tired they just leave the food..

Hello actually thought my buck was too young to mate...
I tried yesterday to breed my does, surprisingly the does wouldn't bulge.. I took the doe to the buck (I dont want any fight as does are strictly territorial and will go as far as castrating the buck...

I tried again today.. first with the cool but mischievous doe. But it was stubborn and I had to take it out..

I tried the brown doe, it worked they bred. The brown doe was comfortable and after running around the doe raised its tail that was it.. i counted 4 fall offs (for the meaning of fall off you can ask).. I'm going to do a confirmation Breeding this evening.... And try Breeding the other buck again around this time tommorow...

I had to wait for the mating to be done.. I'm not giigo to risk leaving my buck with those big does..

First I took out everything that that would obstruct mivemmov and the buck did it's job

So I'm expecting kitts in approximately 28 days and not later than 33 days from now.. on my calendar I have put it out.. from when I'll make nests to when I'll give it to the doe and when I'll start checking on it....

I like your zeal man! The urine collector/wire mesh you used are not durable, so I would advise you start making plans to work on something stronger within the next one year as the current one won't last long.
Secondly your feed/water containers will encourage wastage as it's too light and rabbit are wasters by nature...I am keenly following your progress boss

True sir I swear they waste the feed, so much that I feel any hen lucky enough to stay round here will be very fat..

What can you advise? I use?

There is a kind of plate made with cement that someone sold to me. It was made in the shape of market women Congo, so it can be used as plate container and water container. Bought each at 250 each. You can also make it yourself (if you can make your cage yourself )

Hello... So God has so much made it that the area I live in has unlimited supply of shrubs and grasses that I can gibg my Rabbits.. they eat almost all the grasses but prefer the ones in the picture below.. they still jump at it even if it's dry...
So I went out today and got it in abundance..it's stored up in the lower empty compartment of the hutch...

this looks like Tridax grass

You can as well sell the excreta too,just make sure you are using Bella Feeds,keep the bags or use it to bag the excreta,once is upto A Tonne,just mention me,and I will give you a link; including the urine.

I got feeds today...
Grower mash.
The two females already had been on the mash so it wasn't hard to get them to eat it..
The buck had few weeks on feeds but was cut out from it was largely on a diet of grasses..so when I brought in the feeds it still preferred grasses...it's the smallest and I really want it to gsig some strength and size, so that by the time the females are on heat.. it'll be ready to work...

So I had to take out all the grasses and left it with only feeds, it still wouldn't eat so I had to cut their favorite grass into small bits and put it in the plate of feed... It worked!! While eating the grass it eat the feed and even when the grass finished it kept in eating the feeds....

I put in the evening portion of their grass and feeds but left out the buck from the feeds and gave it grass instead...

It'll be abrupt disaster if I switch I try to add the feeds as if it were the bucks regular food.. I have to go slowly till it gets used to it..

the broken white one is less agile and less play full... The buck is the only friendly one..and got used to it's new home almost immediately..

The females we're always scared of the slightest noise.. but are okay today..

Hey fellas Happy New month....
I have made a few modifications to my hutch... The cool but mischievous doe (in the first picture),who has still refused to breed (can't say that for sure now) made it as a point of duty to chew up the pattern barrier like biscuits and for two days I always came to meet all of them together in the other end with my chinchilla doe...(that am sure has been bred and except my buck is sterile will I not get Kitts)... So I substituted for zinc to keep them in their cages.(might be the mischievous doe has been bred but not sure)

My buck is picking up weight and my chinchilla the all brown eats too much...
Note the remains of my pattern chippings circled in the pictures....

And this a days worth of urine from 3 of them.


Rabbit keeping us steess free, I just clean the hutch, get them grass, fill up the feed containers change the waters and that's it... I just check on them once in a while...

My day starts with cutting the leafs... I wash them to clean of eggs from worms and caterpillars... Share them into three

Note whatever leaf you give them plenty of the leafs should be young, I only add the old almost dried ones to increase the fiber content...

I have noticed that after tridax, they love sweet potatoe leaves.. which luckily grows wild in abundance around me.. they live the long young shoots .they eat leaves and stalk.... apart from. T
that their leaf diet is made up of our local sunflower leaves,wild cover crop leaves and the other long grass... I give elephant grass once in a while....

After that I share, feeds.. check water, hang around and make sure everyone is eating then I leave...
