Hello please for those who’s documents have been verified, did it take a long time before you got the verification mail and please did you get any mail regarding the return of your original documents?

Hey,
It depends on the VO in charge of your documents. He/She might review the documents quickly without moving back and forth with it. I have not received my documents yet, I think they will return it with the visa once the whole process is completed.
Just continue praying for God’s Grace to scale through without any problem

For those that were asked to submit a new a1 certificate, what is the way forward as there might not be any hope of writing exams at goethe this year as they still have like 4 sets of pending exams to conduct.

Good day Nairalanders please I want to ask some questions, before the consulate in lagos closed due to Covid19 and documents were returned has anyone gotten an approval mail? And if you have, has the embassy called you to bring your passport? Cause in my own case the approval mail was sent to my husband's lawyer in March after our documents were returned (my son and I) and the lawyer kept mailing them they said they were still closed within the scope of the Covid19 till we got a recent response from them saying the approval mail sent by the foreigner's office is no longer valid and they want to again ask them for approval..
Anyone with such case please?

Hi, If you are successful, the embassy will write u an email requesting for your passport and 3 or 6 months health insurance. They will also ask you to put your travel date 11 days from the date they will receive your passport and health insurance. All these docs plus the originals will be returned using the courier envelope which you submitted during visa application.

your spouse can approach the VO at the foreign office in the city (in Germany) and ask for clarifications. Most times, if the person is nice, useful answers are given

According to the German embassy Lagos office website, family visit is allowed for third country national . But in there are no place to book visiting visa appointments.
Please does anyone have idea about how to book for for family visit visa or has anyone booked before via any means ?

I agree with you. I already sent them a message through the contact form.

I had an appointment that was canceled in March due to the pandemic.

So it's a case of been reassigned a new date as they told me.

Please let me know when you get a feedback.

Hello, have you gotten any reply from the embassy yet?

greetings family my appointment is in few days for reunion visa do I need to go with both the verification fee and application fee, and will they request for health insurance cos its in the form if you have health insurance to cover the entire stay in Germany thank you everyone please I need answers
Re: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by nuel80: 3:18pm On Aug 25, 2020
Yes you need to go with the verification and visa application fee all in cash. Only 500 and 1000 denominations are accepted. Ensure you sort all your documents carefully and make wo copies of each before going there.
You don’t require a travel insurance at this stage, the embassy will contact you if they need you to provide one in future. Good luck to you.

Had the same issue but it was sorted. My wife called the foreigners office and the foreigners office contacted the embassy immediately. I will advise you tell your husband to do same.

Apart from the power of attorney from ministry of interior and the offer letter, please what are the list of
docs/things needed for the interview?
Like travel insurance (how many months?)

What if the start date on offer letter is past, does it break anything?

I booked appointment in June and read that skilled workers are exempt from the travel restrictions, my enquiry form has also not be replied.

stereo:

I've been eagerly waiting for news about this as well.

Read this and tell me what you think:
https://nigeria.diplo.de/ng-en/vertretungen/generalkonsulatlagos

International flights are banned still. So even with a visa travel is not possible.

But since visa Family reunion is been considered, I'll like to know how they approach the issue of travel.

There is a checklist on their website for the various visa types.

I'm still in the process. I haven't been interviewed, so I don't have concrete info on the other questions.

Hello all, my wife had her interview today. The interviewer told her that the verification by the lawyer is not needed because our marriage has already been verified (I changed my marital status here in my city earlier this year and it took 2 weeks before it was done because they verified it). Who else has had such experience? Thanks.
Re: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by bamdexfarms(m): 10:22pm On Aug 27, 2020
Also, we did the court, church and traditional weddings and we submitted lots of pictures as evidence. Could this be also a factor?

Also, got my original documents back in march ending some days before Nigeria lockdown. I just want to know if they have start issuing visa to anyone after the uplifting of lockdown. Thanks.

Adedamola92:
Good evening guys,
Had my interview yesterday and it went well. First ensure you arrange all the documents according to the order that is on the checklist. Although Paulonius will want you to arrange it his way, but it's a lot easier once you have already arranged it according to the checklist.
I got to the embassy around 6:30am, I was allowed in 15 minutes later . My invitation email printout was stamped, I took my sit and waited to be attended to. 8:15am, Paulonius attended to me and told me to arrange my docs according to his own order which isn't far away from the way it is on the checklist. This process took about 20mins because he was deliberately wasting time and trying to assert his authority. Once I was done, I proceeded into the embassy to eventually meet the interviewer.
She asked me if I had both the document verification and the visa application fee and I said yes. She then told me to rearrange my docs according to her checklist, she scanned my passport photograph and that of my spouse. She told me to re-sign my application form and write Lagos as the "Place" and yesterday's date as the "Date" did this for both application forms, my questionnaires and the data protection forms (she gave me this form there).

She asked for my Spouse's phone number, email, date of birth, the city my spouse resides and what spouse does. She asked if my spouse is on scholarship or not, I told her my spouse is not on scholarship. This was when she told me I will only need to pay for application fee and not the verification fee. I was confused, I brought out my spouse's work contract (this was part of many supplementary documents that I went with), she took the contract to her superior and came back to tell me that I still don't need to pay the document verification fee. I asked her if I could ask her a question and she smiled and told me to go ahead. I asked why I wouldn't need to pay, she said it's because my spouse is a Researcher (PhD student) so I don't need to pay. We then proceeded to interview questions, in my mind I was like (what questions again o). I can't remember the whole questions she asked, but I will drop some.
How old is your spouse?
Where was your spouse born?
Spouse's date of birth?
What date did your spouse agree to start dating or vis a vis?
Were you friends before you started dating?
What year did your spouse first traveled to ?
How long has your spouse's parent know about you?
Have you been to Germany before?
Have you been convicted before?
Has either of you been married before?
How long have you been dating?
How long have you been married?
What does your spouse do?
Where does your spouse work?
How long has your spouse been residing in Germany?
What is your spouse's home address?
When did the actual marriage take place?
How often do you see?
Have you at any point stayed together in the same house? If yes, from when to when (date /month).
When was the last time you saw your spouse?
Where was the last time you saw your spouse?
How much does your spouse earn? (exact figure).
How many times have you been together? 100? 350? Over 500 times?
Do you stay alone?
Are you working?
What qualifications do you have?
What were you doing when you met your spouse ?
Describe in details how your first meeting was?
When your spouse came , did he/she come home for the sake of the marriage?
How did the marriage proposal go?
Have you had your church marriage?
Do you speak German?
Do you have children that you will like to travel with?
Where did your engagement take place?
When did your engagement take place?
Where did your marriage take place?
She returned my passports to me and told me I will be contacted when it's needed. She has another checklist where she ticked the docs I provided and told me to sign. She created a file on which she wrote my name , where she kept my original documents,my pre-paid envelope and the copies of the documents I submitted.

Ps. She requested for 6 pictures from the engagement and the wedding plus all the old pictures we had, she ended up collecting 6 engagement pictures and 3 wedding pictures plus all old pictures. She was particular about pictures that show you and your spouse, you, your spouse with witnesses.
Also ensure you use the new application form on the website, it makes the whole process easy.

The entry and exit stamp is important, it helps you answer questions on duration and the last time you saw to avoid contradiction.

The original Proof of Residence of your spouse is required.

If I remember more, I will update accordingly.

Wishing you guys Goodluck and all the best to Us.
