Bayern showed interest but backtracked and hinted that they won't push because they can't pay any player that amount (Messi's salary). Manchester United is in the race but have become quiet. Messi's transfer is like a pregnancy. For now, ignore the certainty of destination City, because the drama in itself is yet to start.

Should Adidas step in, we will all be left with no option than to remove City as the destination. It is a political business.

PSG is backed by Qatar and Man city by UAE monarchy . so they have unlimited funds.

Messi claims he can leave for free. for free means no transfer fee between the clubs but Barca is saying messi is not for sale unless somebody pays a percentage or all of his release clause (643million). they are willing to negotiate 200million and above as transfer fee

Nobody wants to pay that in this period.

Barca dont mind Messi leaving because his Salary is choking them but they want something additional in transfer fees.
Easiest way out of this (from a financial perspective) is for Messi to wait till end of next season when he can leave for free.
