That's Wonderful.....I think we are getting it right in a way in this country.

We need ..........

Christian bar association CBA,
Muslims bar association (MBA) and
traditional bar association, TBA....

We need to follow issues perspectively in this country..

The different association will afford members to practice according to law, religion and rules.

If religiously it is riddled with nepotism, we can try geo-political zones formations of bar associations...

If all these fail, we can conviently move to ethnic formations of bar associations which is..

Kanuris bar association
Yorubas bar association
Igbo bar association
Hausa bar association
Fulani bar association
Ijaw bar association
TIV bar association
Idoma bar association
Efik bar association
Ibibios bar association and the rest....

Mental... will you say same for regionalism and true federalism and resources control

See intelligent people playing tribalistic and religious sentiment.

I want to believe that El-rufai invitation was withdrawn cos of the security situation of the state. (Or there some information that am missing). How come these lawyers are bringing in religion and tribe into these issue.
I hope we the southerners are seeing this. The north will always support their person irrespective of how bad he is. I once told someone that if Shekau the leader of Boko haram is to contest the presidential election against a southern candidate, the average northerner will vote for Shekau.

Infact, this is a good development. Let the southern lawyers form there own branch. Probably the division of this country will start gradually.

I hope one day they can have enough courage to form their own country.
They won't, they'll all stave to death. They got nothing to offer.

This would make the little clout that was empathetic to him desert him...a typical attitude of "if its not my way, it's no way"..

Well.. other Noble associations that have stood the test of time should ban El-rufai from public speaking, he can keep sponsoring parody associations.

The matter "tire" me. They're unable to tolerate small injustice yet they condemn people marginalized and oppressed over the years for asking for a separate country.

Which injustice? Because an invitation was withdraw from EL RUFAI? Their level of reasoning is far below average.. I wonder how they even became lawyers.. ooh I forgot SHARIA LAWYERS.. then their Qiran must be so dumb

I like the bold decision taken by northern lawyers. Despite all the killings in Taraba & Benue nobody has ever accused their governors for backing the killings, there was massacre at Plateau nobody made similar allegations, the other guest invited are evidently more criminals bt because of political reason & hidden religious agenda, the useless bigots started unsubstantiated allegations which can neva be found against El Rufai. This can't be allowed against a Northerner, we can't allow bigots controlling media and sponsoring deadly accusations against our own. Who knows how far they'll go framing Northerners untill all northern elites are painted black.

Did you ever hear those governors supporting boko haram nor fulani herds men?.. unaa no just get sense at all..

When it comes to the evil and injustice meted out to sections of this country, Northern elite will be quick to say "The unity of Nigeria is non negotiable" then now that a petty matter of somebody who was invited was then disinvited, the Northern lawyers want to secede from NBA.

Let them go, little by little we're getting closer to the end of this bad marriage.

To God be the Glory

This is exactly the kind of attitude that led to the internal division and formation of the splinter group - namely blatant hypocrisy (and in your case, also bigotry).

You just condemned the so called elites and educated for being unduly influenced by religion and politics; yet your first remark was to castigate the splinter group as a Sharia association, without any justification whatsoever: either from the content of their complaint (i.e. double standards & lack of fair hearing) or in the manner they identified themselves; rather, you ignored all that and instead jumped into the issue of religion (apparently, your own pet hate, Sharia law)

I'm sorry you saw it as that

but don't go about saying I hate any thing
you don't know me

grew up in the North
half of my friends are Muslims
if I had hate for sharia I would probably be charged with something or even still won't maintain such friends

just got carried away....the Nairaland way

if you find a way for me to get out of here.....

Unfortunately, your post reeked of so much ignorance and bigotry; it simply left no room for any alternative interpretation other than the one reached.

No, I do not know you, just like you also did not know those lawyers before you saw fit to lump them together and castigate them as Sharia association.

Unlike you, I did not categorically stated that you hated Sharia but said it appeared you did (big difference) - the word 'APPARENTLY' (used in my post) was the qualifier that essentially distinguished and set the two apart.

I very much doubt you grew up in the north because if you did, you would have known that Sharia is not applied to non-Muslims but ONLY to Muslims; and therefore it was quite improbable that anyone would have charged you with anything.
