The only reason why Cristiano Ronaldo was not courted was because most people knew that Cristiano Ronaldo was technically finished as a superstar before Real Madrid decided to cash in while they still can. Florentino Pérez literally pushed him out of Real Madrid. Buying Cristiano Ronaldo, when they did, was the worst investment that Juve ever made. So the issue now is that Messi claims the clause is still supposed to be valued pending the factors that affected the later closing of the season but barca doesn't want to agree

How is it supposed to be valued when it has run out?.

Release clause is suppose to protect the clubs valuation of the player within the agreed years of the contract.

He has one year year/season left on his contract with barca.

Unless whatever club can pay a satisfying transfer fee to barca or snatch the player thru release clause as in the case of Neymar.

Neymar was snatched by PSG through the release clause.

True.....but his plea is that since the Covid ish elongated the season to August instead of June which was when the season was supposed to end and was the main factor on which the contract was based, these factors should be considered.
