Despite the need for birds that can scavenge for themselves & are hardy, you still need to provide a degree of attention for them to hit their full potentials. To answer your question, Noilers/kuroilers will do just fine; heavy birds with their female hens having good laying capabilities.
Thank you bro. I will pay attention sha grin just that work will take a sizeable chunk of my time.
I am planning on moving to a permanent site with large expanse of land in the near future and I thinking of poultry and goat herding on a small scale

Good morning all.
I've been following this thread closely and I've gleaned a lot of information from your posts.

I started raising my Grinphield Kuroilers from day olds 4 weeks ago. I've kept to a strict herbal remedies using Aloe, Ginger and Bitter Leaf extracts. So no vaccinations or medications.

I noticed that about 2 of my birds have developed some sort of sore around the eye and beak area. I'm not sure what it is, I'll be grateful for any diagnosis.

You can reach me on Telegram: RockkLee

Thanks. Yes, I've moved them from the coop they were in initially. I noticed a high presence of mosquitoes and that was my initial prognosis since it didn't seem infectious.

prepare the Neem leaf &aloe Vera gel combo then , boill the neem leaves and add the aloe Vera gel to it Wen the solution is cool. Give the birds for 3-5days. it's a strong organic antibiotic, don't forget to apply the lime juice on d black spots too.

Thanks. Prepared the solution as advised.
I also applied a dilute Izal solution on the blister using cotton swabs yesterday and the improvement is almost magical. (I couldn't immediately get the lime juice.)

Hello Sir Jude

I finally built the cage for the birds.
Since the construction cost me a lot, I want to reduce the birds to 50 for a start.
Can you help me with the feeding estimate for a month. Or any other things I need to know
NOTE: Have ordered for Noiler 1 to 2 weeks

Attached is the Domestic Noiler we are rearing which inspire me to go fully

Farmers help me out.
Attached is the building

Is it okay for noilers to weight about 1-1.2 kg at 3 months? And four of them have consumed up to 16kg grower feed.

Using my kuroilers as a reference point, at the 3month they were weighing roughly between 1.8 - 2.4kg.
I never fed growers though. Strictly on finisher after the 6week, though I improvised with waste grounded grains from all these mallams at Alaba rago.

cool
You never stated the duration the 16kg was eaten up.

This is the calculation I use; at that your stated week, I feed 0.95kg per kuroiler bird weekly.
So for your 4 birds; 0.95 x 4 = 3.8kg every week.
Just round it up to 4kg make your birds dey cash out grin

Moreover, kitchen wastes could be thrown in if available. Me I dey

lols me I don't measure weeklg feed intake o! I just fill their plate. Actually its 18 kg but I removed 2 kg as waste. Starting from July 2 until yesterday was the duration they consumed the 16kg. I think they are short of feed. Moreover I bought them at 5 weeks.

Although I am not rearing to sell, I am just and enthusiast, but how will farmers make profit if the birds are consuming that much feed, assuming the farmer choose to use bag feed all through.

By the way, add one more feeding trough.

Beautiful setup you have there. Kudos!!!

Good day boss,
What do you hope to achieve by giving the ginger/garlic mixture if I may ask? Are your birds organically raised or it's a combination of both? Are they presently sick? Or you simply just want to do organic?

Nevertheless, ginger/garlic can be administered in moderation to your broiler birds to boost immunity, appetite stimulant, anti-oxidant and help kill of bad bacteria/worm in your birds. In doing this, you need to be very observant and see how your birds reacts to the introduction.
