Messi is a better playmaker than Ronaldo but he isn't as half as decisive as Ronaldo in the last 5 years. Please note that you are allowed to look up the meaning of the word before getting into this.

I will be taking into account crucial matches that Messi disappeared or bottled but Ronaldo was everywhere scoring goals.
lolz this cr7 fan boys are jus too funny, cr7 is decisive because he is scoring goals abi?? so being decisive is all about scoring goals even when his team lost abi?? i dnt want to argue, am too busy for dt, if its other player u mentioned i would ague bt since its cr7 juf forget am abeg..

What does it mean to be decisive in football? Why do you think Messi is trolled as "Eibarman"? Being decisive in football means being able to influence the outcome of a game and that largely involves scoring goals. So what are we talking about here?

city cant be paying too much for messi, city knows what they wants and they know what having messi would bring to the club from the sporting aspect to the business aspects along with the revenue he would bring to EPL and to city, u dnt kno more than city who have so much cash and a group of financial experts in thier team... "let who pays the piper dictates its tune"..

But ronaldo has been more decisive than messi in the past 5 years...or don't u know the meaning of being decisive in a game??
i think you want to mention another player but seeing you calling cr7 means they is no aguement..
being decisive to me means being an influential figure in a match or a team or as a factor in determining the end reasult of that match..cr7 is more abt scoring goals but dt dnt mk him more decisive...if barca wins juve 4-3 and massi gave all the assist for dt goals wthout scoring while cr7 scored a hat trick for juve, as long as barca won it simply means dt messi was more decisive dt cr7...cr7 can score goals and still lost dt match and dt do not make him decisive in dt match...pls call another player abeg

i was forced to explain to ur fellow cr7 fan, take ur time and go through it..and mind you being decisive isnt jus abt scoring goals, a midfielder or playmaker can be decisive without scoring goals, a goalkeeper can save all penalties in a final shootout and be tagged decisive without scoring....i hope u learn bro

Common man, Hazard makes assists. But I get the overall point grin

Messi actually does it better in every single point in that facts than those individuals could actually manage. Yes, a better playmaker, a better assist maker, a better dribbler and a better goalscorer (goals per match).

If people around my vicinity now watch Juventus match because of Ronaldo, how much more Man City's matches that people already watches? And more so, Messi is THAT PLAYER you pay to watch. Because as soon as he touches the ball. Expect Magic!
Not just your vicinity bro. Ronaldo's move to juve changed a lot otherwise Juventus is a boring team to watch. I rarely watch their games except in UCL when they play against tougher opposition.

Manchester City are reported to have offered Lionel Messi close to €1m per week (£850,000) over the course of a five-year contract, which would see the six-time Ballon d'Or winner earn €500m (£445m) in total including bonuses

That's not all, either. An extra €250m (£223m) bonus would be given to Messi at the three-year mark, taking the total valuation of the five-year contract to a cool €750m (£669m) on City's end.

SPORT claim that, in order to side-step Financial Fair Play rules, the €250m signing on bonus would be paid out on the third year to mark the move to New York, rather than up front.

The Barcelona captain's relationship with the club broke down further this weekend after he failed to show up for pre-season medical testing, and it is beginning to seem like the situation has reached the point of no return. Barcelona, as we know, are determined to hold onto their talisman, but he is prepared to fight them all the way to secure an exit.

If he does leave this summer then City are the firm favourites to be his next destination. His relationship with manager Pep Guardiola gives them the edge over the small handful of clubs who have the financial might to make a deal happen.

With reports rife that City have already agreed a contract offer with the Argentine, SPORT have shed some light on what has been agreed between the two parties. It's said that Messi will sign a five-year contract with the City football group, and would spend three seasons with the Manchester Club, before moving to MLS - at which point he would be 36 - to end his career with New York City.

How much will he be earning? Well..

An offer of a reported €100m per season pre-tax is under consideration by Messi's representatives, which would see him earn just under €1m per week after tax. That's said to more or less match what he is currently on at Barcelona, and would make him comfortably the Premier League's top-paid player.

On the other hand, you really wouldn't want to be the contract negotiator responsible for mitigating the knock-on effects on City's wage structure in the years ahead.

It may worth it on business aspect. Aside trophies, players attract fans to clubs. Imagine his three years in Man city adding 1m fans to their fanbase. Imagine the number of his shirts they can sell. It could be strategic. If a club wants more fans in Asia, they buy an Asian player. Many Canadians are now supporting Bayern Munich because of Alphonso Davies. Arsenal supporters are the highest in Nigeria because of then Kanu effect.

You still don't get it. Last I checked, penalty kicks are part of of football. And if you were so much knowledgeable about football, you'd realise Messi and Ronaldo have almost played the same number of penalty kicks all their lives. The only difference is that Messi has lost more and disappointed his team while Ronaldo has converted his. Did you know that Sergio Ramos was more decisive than Messi in the just concluded season just because he scored the winning penalty kicks for Real Madrid in almost every game?

What does tapnaldo mean? Does he score with those tap ins or not? Do those tap ins decide matches or not? Are tap-ins disregarded as goals or something? Are you implying Ruud Van Nistelrooy, one of the most lethal strikers to ever grace the game didn't score most of his career goals by tap-ins? Should I mention classic 9s who most of their goals by tap-ins?

I sure hope you know Messi is called Eibarman because he bottles up in big games only to score 6 goals against the likes of Eibar?

Messi would have had a national honour to his name if he was half the tapnaldo that Ronaldo is.

Benzema was La Liga's best player of 2020. Messi came behind. That should tell you something.

that buy out clause isnt a factor for now because barca would have to agree for a reduce fee with city if they really wants to allow messi leave for city and dts the main factor
as for those wages, i still insist that city have more than that to offer messi if he comes, messi is big brand and we are talking about shiek oil moni here...jus relax my gee
imcase u dnt kno city squad are currently the most expensive in EPL with €1.014billion followed by man.u with €758m and also city have the most expensive defenders in EPL, the likes of walker, mendy, stones, laporte, are all record breaking signing for defenders..

Nor follow them argue too much.
If uniqlo can pay Roger federer a whopping $300 million dollars to wear their brand at almost the end of his career, a 36 year old tennis player whom NIKE wouldn't renew his contract, how much more the oil billionaires of man city for a 33 year old messi.

You don't understand how big Messi is. Barcelona is paying almost the same thing yet fighting to extend his contract, man generates so much revenue it can make you cry ... a global sportsman even rival fans from all over the world buys his shirt... and expect city's stock to rise, expect their fanbase to increase, expect their sponsorships to increase too ...

If you like post 50-0. The point here is the stupid fact you trolls raise about been decisive. Someone was knocked out by Ajax and Lyon in 2 seasons yet he is decisive. Juve can kill to lay their hands on a champions league trophy, reason why they hired Ronaldo yet nothing to show in 2 seasons.

His spectacular performance in a juve shirt in champions league is hatrick against athletico and double against Lyon, still the goals got them no where. That is your own definition of being influencial

Let's not forget City would have to cough out at least €698m to sign him.

Its impossible!!

and besides they don't have so much fans like other clubs for Jersey sales n others

This long talks don't apply. Below is the evidence of your most decisive player getting humiliated and killed in the quarter finals of the UCL 3 consecutive years before managing to enjoy a savoury humiliation in the hands of Liverpool in the semi. And in the quarter final again, Bayern licked your goat up.

you even said ramos is more decisive than messi dt had 20+ gaols and 20+ assist and more MVP awards than all of madrid players in the same league that he missed almost a month due to injury..
the worst was you bringing up benzema online polls dt was organized by marca dts based in madrid and bankrolled by perez as an achievement saying he is better than messi even when we all know that the official la liag best is normally given during the next season and ur benzeman stand no chance ahead of messi and ramos..
but the sentiments didnt remind you dt cr7 was decisive in juve and dybala won the league best player ahead of him...i jis hate it when people talk football with soo much bias and sentiments, abeg my guy no mention me again since u choose to reason like a kid..
