My comparison is with unstable transport fare in Lagos

Honestly, besides the business I do, nothing else takes me to Lagos and largely I don’t go far from MMA. Lagos is not a place to live in walahi! If we’re being truthful with that guy, he needs to come to Abuja prepared. In this town, money leaves the pockets as fast as it enters even when you’re living frugally.

See there's a new developing area close to dutse, with 350k you'll get spacious one bedroom apartment(new house o) that has water and meter. And house there na pop ceiling things not pvc, tiles everywhere. Sincerely it's better to pay such and have such space than to pay 800k for one disgusting tiny selfcon in town just for show.

Mind you there are many fake broke guys here, dem go pm you to see if they can leech off u or squat with ya.

If he doesn’t own a car, he’ll then invest heavily in transportation

You're right..

Same way money leaves is the same way there exist opportunities to make money. If he doesn't do pass himself, doesn't carry ashawo, cooks most of his meal, he'll be fine.

The notion that Abuja is very expensive to live is one of the biggest fallacies ever.
Lagos and Portharcourt as far as I'm concerned are even more expensive to live than Lagos.

A very good percentage of the comments are all lies, mostly from guys who see Lagos as heaven.

Like you rightly said, Abuja is the best place to live in Nigeria.

Someone said a plate of food in mama put is N500, wtf?

OP, if you have your 150-200k, move to Abuja and start your life.

In the next ten years, you'll be glad you did.

God bless you bro...I just weak for these lies.

In abuja you are either very wealthy or you are wretched. There is no middle ground. You will find out that even the people who claim to be doing fairly well are actually wretched and are just putting up appearances. If your salary is not up to 1m a month you can't live comfortably there. The prepare yourself. No friend in abuja. Even your relatives dont know you. The only time people will say hi to you is only when they think they can get something from you.

This is the pure undiluted truth. I’m currently in Abuja for an on-ground assessment for my business.

Truly, there’s no middle ground here.

That nonsense will come from some idiot that has never set foot in abj. Food in abj is fvcking cheap because it is mostly Hausa people that sell food and Hausa people hardly cheat.

This right here is the problem. Most of what you speak of here is an illusion most people are sold about abuja then they go amd are very disappointed.
1. Which social networking are you talking of? Abuja people are the most cold and anti social people I have ever met. Its even worse when you are in a place like those places you mentioned. In abuja nobody talks to you except they want something from you. Even neighbours dont greet because everyone wants to show that he is better than the other. They have this culture of wanting to oppress all the time. The idea that one big man can make way for you is a big lie. The big men are busy securing everything for their children and families
2. When you speak of comfort honestly you will find more comfort in a place like kebbi. Kebbi is one of the few places in naija currently that enjoys almost 24 hrs uniterrupted power.
3. Thank God you mentioned "IF". To really enjoy yourself and live in those places certainly 400k wont be enough for you except youwant to be working for landlord.

It’s okay. Don’t bother with that guy again. Social networking....hahahaha. How? With Neighbour’s you don’t see? I’ve been in my house for 2 months, I see cars in the compound, but I never see the human beings who own them. And it’s not me, I’m a very outgoing person .

Bros, no think like that oo. My biggest breaks and patronage in business or job has been from Neighbors who grew to know me. We don’t have to share personal details. Let’s just look out for each other in our estate. Is that too much to ask?

I take a lot of pictures to build my product catalogue. There’s a photographer in my estate but as Ogbeni is forming Photographer of the President na... I’ve had to leave him be.

I'm sorry but that is how it is and that is why I love the place, if you ever want to travel out of Africa be prepared for "every man for and to himself" period.

Abuja is an extremely expensive city

That's what we all believe, truth is ABJ have all levels of people living here, from the extremely rich government individuals, to the scavengers you can find in most sitelite villages, the main town of FCT is actually surrounded by this villages, where majority of those who are of average and below income earners rest their heads after the day hustle, brother if you earn some reasonable bastard money you would live in places we call "town". So in essence, you might not have any problems if you will want to pay 150k for a self-contain apartment in this villages scattered around Abuja, then for feeding, it's better you have your foodstuffs (which is expensive though) at home and cook your meals rather than using fast foods restaurants, in most places a normal sized dish might not go below 500 naira, now three square meal a day plus your transportation fares might gulp a huge percentage from your income... So buy foodstuffs, use more of long buses for your trips until you are familiar with the best routes and cheaper means to use as ABJ isn't predictable transport-wise

If you plan staying for a long period of time, save up some money get a village land if you cannot afford a standard one, build your self a small home for yourself and your family and stop paying for rent as long as the government don't remember you and your neighbors... #stay safe

Those places are not in the zone 5 side now. Those places have better estates and you can't even get self con cheap there
nkemdi89:

Have you stayed in trademore estate ? What of CBS? What of VON? River park Nko ? Even around dunamis Patience jonathan estate nko? Or sabo lugbe? There are far better places than federal housing around lugbe , in federal housing most houses there doesn't have water, but those ones I mentioned they have their own boreholes right in the compound, even lugbe aco is good , the slums in lugbe are around that zone 5 , you can buy community land there and develop it. Those places I mentioned have well tarred road network and they share the same electricity grid with airport.

You are right. If he move to places like karu/Jikwoyi. Nyanya. He can get houses for 250k. And funny, a lot of people live in estates around this area and go to work to the CBD or other places. There is this army estate in Kurudu. Is fine and lovely. CBN estate at Karu. Jikwoyi phase one and two. Things are relatively normal there. From nyanya under bridge to AYA is 100 naira. Is just the surging traffic in the morning & evening when people go to the main town and back...
