President Goodluck E Jonathan warned us then about the decision to follow the apc buhari led party.

It is so obvious the understanding of economic crunch, the old story of Wall Street etc. Little did we know that GEJ was God sent and his team did fabulously superb...

Nigerians owe the man n his team an apology. Now what

Fuel? Light?? Unemployment And insensitive government? The govt n his team are all enjoying govt immunity and plenty siphoned so what the masses are suffering now, they don't see it.

If I were buhari, I wud do far far beta because of the trust Nigerians had for him earlier including the rigging the party did to forcefully collect power.

The national assembly budget needs to be slashed as well. The bogus salaries and allowances earn by our law makers something needs to be done about this..I Know this is a constitutional matter , the Constitution needs to be reviewed in order to achieved this. This is where the bulk of our revenue and expenditure goes to.

2015 was all about displacing the incumbent and 16 years of PDP misrule even at a point those that were supporting GEJ were having a rethink but 2019 can't be called a mistake it was intentional by the electorates and we are all facing the consequences now, 3 more years to go we hope and pray (Nigeria own solution of prayer) it will get better.

Choose between PDP's and APC's "misrule".In those 16years where was Nigerian economy and what were prices of basic commodities? In 5years of APC how is Nigerian economy and prices of basic commodities? What is the unemployment rate?Is APC better term of security?Where are the CHANGE and NEXT LEVEL?Can we use prayer to cover up irresponsibility?

Things are hard, people are hungry...and no we can't protest, because we've lost our voices!

Shame on the electorates!

GEJ was a useless president, he should have listened to his minister (Iwealla, Sanusi(CBN) and Diezani Alison-Madueke ) and removed the oil subsidies, instead he bowed down to the street mob.

In fact, the few I have spoken with are praising Buhari for finally taking the hard decisions after five years in office. They think that if previous governments had chosen this path, we would have suffered the pains and be enjoying the gains by now. They believe the funds burnt on fuel subsidies, probably six trillion naira in the last 10 years, could have been better spent on roads, education and healthcare.

Funny enough we have no way of knowing if Nigeria would still have existed had the PDP continued...

Our major source of income OIL dropped drastically on the internation market to less than half of what it was during GEJ, meaning our country income took a dip. However the minimum wage was increased by almost 100%. No federal civil servant has lost his job, state having issues were being bailed out...Capital projects are being carried out, and YES we have had to borrow more, even during GEJ we borrowed with all the surplus we had, we debated the N18000 minimum wage as if the country with collapse if it was paid to workers...

APC as far as l am concerned are doing the dirty job that should have long been done by previous governments. Which had it been done we would not have swayed this far off.

It is very unfortunate some people can not see beyond their noses and you are one of them. Where were you in 2012 when GEJ wanted to remove this fuel subsidy and you guys leading a protest against that Government then knowing fully well that you guys was just planning to take over Government without preparation for the governance and concomitant challenges ahead.

Furthermore, we all know that NNPC is a condit pipe every Government used to siphoning our money. Under this Government so many fraud has be committed in this same leadership.

Finally, what I know and is very certain is if you guys do same mistake of 2015 and 2019 in 2023 you will get the same result.

quote author=PassingShot post=93657776]Many Nigerians have long clamored for removal of subsidy from fuel and now we have it.

During PDP's subsidy regime of a trillion naira yearly, fuel was not available and we bought it at N600 or more per liter.

With subsidy removed, fuel price will fluctuate up and down, depending on the crude price in the world market; and that is what we are witnessing now. A drop in the crude price was the reason the fuel price was reduced a few months ago, not because of anything else.

Personally, I believe Nigerians deserve to enjoy some form of subsidy on fuel price. Unfortunately, it's impossible to argue for that when we do not refine the bulk of our crude and when we do not earn as much as we used to earn from crude sale.

The hypocrisy in all of this is that those who supported and voted for Atiku who said he would sell NNPC to enrich his friends are the same vocal opponents of this development. The question they should answer is if they thought fuel price would be cheaper if NNPC had been sold.

Fact is, we would have bought a liter of fuel at nothing less than N250 had Atiku won and succeeded in selling NNPC to his friends. It is similar to what we're seeing with the electricity tariff which PDP approved to be increased every five years. Think!

Our leaders have succeeded in dividing the populace along ethnic and religion line that we can't find a common force to set the country on uniform acceleration or act otherwise. This is one of the reasons I dislike PDP when they described APC as a Muslim coalition. This is the height of propaganda against a party in a volatile country like Nigeria. Ever since we now look at the religious or ethnic background of any person that is called to serve the people.

Indeed, Nigerians have heard all that before.Buhari’s shock therapy is thus, not the ultimate solution. We need fiscal discipline at all levels of government. We need accountability. We need transparency. We need prudence. Government needs to trim fat.

While retrenchment is not an option at this time, at least certain excesses on the expenditure side can be scaled down.

The pains of reforms would only be worth it if Nigerians begin to see good roads, decent hospitals, better education and higher standards of living in the years ahead.Unfortunately, Nigerians have heard the same unfulfilled promises for so long that they have developed immunity against hope.

Your hypocrisy stinks to the high heavens. When the previous administration suggested subsidy removal, we all trooped to Ojota to register our displeasure. Yes, I was there.
Buhari during his campaign said there was nothing like subsidy. Tam David west said under Buhari, petrol would sell for N40/ltr.
I remember the first price hike under this administration, Kachikwu said market forces would come into play and the price of petrol would reduce drastically in a matter of months.
Here we are today faced with a demonic govt that rose to power on the wings of blatant lies and propaganda.
