That figure you touted as the Earth's age is give or take. You do realize, like the Carbon dating system, Potassium dating is flawed, right? And archaeologists and paleontologists rely on comparitive data to arrive at their conclusions, right? When the original data is flawed (unknowingly), you'd be comparing the second against flawed information.

The scientific community still debates the most effective dating method so until we all can agree on which is (keeps improving), the age of the earth would always be give or take - gross estimates.
