Lagosians did not support Ambode and that's the truth. If lagosians were serious about breaking free from the shackles of godfatherism, the elections outcome would have been different but instead, they were loyal to tinubu. Forget about tinubu's influence on lagos politics, lagosians were not serious. |

He didn’t put up a little fight and maybe who knows the international community would have come to his aide just like edo state. The edo election would have been rigged if not the threat from USA and uk. Had it been Ambode moved to pdp things would have been different cos even if it’s two weeks Lagos would have been ruled by pdp. The guy too fear abeg. 3 Likes |

Larryhoover:Your analysis is a bit wrong. Gbenga ashafa is from Lagos east. Is a native there and won't go against ambode who represent Lagos east. He fully supported him because Epe people comprises of eko epes and ijebu epes. We don't do asslicking in our region thats the main reason he couldn't return. Forget all this manipulation of "its the parties choice" Tinubu has been installing king who not from royal family in Lagos why didn't he respect the peoples choice? 1 Like |

Drelux: I totally agree with you sir... but with the manner with which Ambrose was chased out... I don't think there's any future for him in APC. as long as he's not ready to flow with the terms of Tinubu |
Re: Obaseki's Victory: Why Ambode Couldn't Fight Tinubu by Mayeldah(m): 11:15am On Sep 22, 2020 |
People would have supported Ambode if he had put a fight. No matter how big Tinubu is, all it takes to crash his empire is one man with a brave heart. People won't throw their wieght behind you if you are not willing to put up a fight. Amobode is a coward period 1 Like |

Ambode is simply not a man he is forever afraid of Tinubu and that is why he will forever live under the shadows of Tinubu. He is a weakling who is afraid of death. Confront your fears and use your advantage to gain a vantage space. Obaseki went to this war trusting God alone and he used the strength of the opponent to his own advantage. All Obaseki was saying was godfatherism was bad and everybody keyed into it to kill godfatherism. Nobody bothered to listen to Ize Iyamu's simple agenda for whatever it was worth and Oshiomole didn't help matters as he was everywhere trying his best to foist his candidate on Edolites. . |

jericco1: I dont think so. He was fierce. He did the right thing by calculations. He was already putting things in place to oust the godfather, but for the reasons stated above. Ambode will return as a governor obe day. |
Re: Obaseki's Victory: Why Ambode Couldn't Fight Tinubu by mofayode: 11:19am On Sep 22, 2020 |
Lagos politics is about area fathers, that even the NURTW, work with. They had been working for the godfather before ambode, they are the party local governments managers. They are very rich too. Ambode ought have worked to break in or raise the kind of those men. How fashola win obanikoro? We once heard not everywhere in Yoruba dominated areas, one can paste opposition parties posters. |

fuckingAyaya: I encourage you to stop castigating all Yorubas, it will not help you, Yoruba is the only tribe in Nigeria where blood brothers can belong to the two major religion and still eat from the same plate. it is hate to insinuate that Yorubas are under mental slavery. Oyo is PDP if you see APC as enslaving the people of Yoruba, it means that Imo state is under mental slavery, thank you. |
Re: Obaseki's Victory: Why Ambode Couldn't Fight Tinubu by Minjim: 11:23am On Sep 22, 2020 |
Those saying he should have fought either don't know the political weight of Tinubu in Lagos politics or are overestimating the influence of PDP in Lagos politics. It's only the masses of Lagos in unity with God that can demystify Tinubu |

Oghene1st:These are lame excuses. Ambode failed to utilize his four years judiciously. There are key people he must have in his pockets. He has Lagos funds. Why couldn't he buy the speaker and members? Political naivety!! Must he be governor at all costs? If I find out I cant win, I will rock the boat by sponsoring another candidate, say Speaker to counter the Tinubu onslaught. He could still win in another candidate and scuttle the plot against him. He was weak truly. He is a chicken bone politician!! 3 Likes 4 Shares |

Mowsid:majorly, the PDP platform in Lagos in too shaky. In short, the politics dynamics of Lagos and Edo are too far apart to compare Ambode and Obasaki situations. APC as a party are well aware of what Lagos brings to the table and Kano as well, same as Rivers for PDP. So Ambode did not just have any way around it, once the party decision was against him. 2 Likes |

nzeobi: Why we they ashame sir? We must learn how to accept defeat in election, to be governor or president shouldn't be do or die sir, and your types are reason political candidates kill and maim to win elections. Meanwhile nos one reason obaseki won, has to do mainly because of 2023.............Elrufai/Fayemi camp is doing everything possible to reduce influence of Tinubu b4 2023, a sitting governor is a big factor to determine presidential Candidate, Everyone knew what happened, in Osun, kano and kogi, enormous federal government involvement won those state for the current Governors. But in Edo, it appears as if federal even supported PDP, .......if federal can be neutral in state elections, it will be very difficult to beat incumbents that are recontesting. |
