Igbochief001:USA food security stems from Genetic modifications. When you talk about improved seeds....there are countless research in Nigeria on these...pest resistance, disease resistance, drought resistant and other improved seedlings are available in Nigeria farms. It is not enough for sustainable food security we are talking about. USA largely depends on GMO not improved seeds |

adioolayi:We have improved seeds ...that's not the issue making them available in enough quantity is the main problem |

Igbochief001:I still don't think the improved seeds can carter for our population. We need something different...We need seeds that requires less stress to plant, less time to harvest, resists diseases and with massive yields. |

Funny post indeed. Agricultural revolution yet food prices are at an all time high. People are starving in there tens of millions. You guys are really shameless after the massive betrayal of trust we ve experienced with this useless government on all sectors. |

CodeTemplar:Sincerely, it is. Just a single approval of the use of Genetic modified seeds will do the magic. Food security will be achieved like what you see in US and Europe |
| Re: 12 Reasons Nigeria's Agric Revolution Is Real Under President Buhari. Sept 2020 by adioolayi(m): 9:16am On Sep 23, 2020 |
Igbochief001:If we both agreed we already have improved seeds...yes, you made a point on accessibility and distribution..maybe...I will like to add they should allow genetic modification too. It's very important in attaining food security for this kind of population like ours |

Immediately I saw "President Buhari is determined to....bla bla bla", I just stopped reading the lies and propaganda. Going round to compile the struggles and sweat of a few agric entrepreneurs and claiming them as Federal govt achievement, is the normal lies and deception of this government. If you really want to know the truth about the parlous and sorry state of farming in Nigeria go and talk to the following: 1) Erisco Foods who believed the lies of this govt and invested heavily to set up tomatoes puree processing plant. Nigerian Customs colluded with importers and smugglers to flood the market with imported tin tomato. The man shouted and got tired. At the end he closed the factory down. 2) Dangote set up tomatoes puree factory, same thing happened. He closed the plant down because banditary and killing of farmers by herdsmen ensured the plant did not have enough tomatoes to keep it running. 3) Large scale rice farmers in Benue, Plateau, Taraba, Adamawa, Kaduna, Zamfara, and many Northern states cannot go thier farms due to killings and kidnappings by fulani herdsmen. 4) Air Marshall Alex Badeh former Chief of Defense Staff was trailed and brutally murdered in an ambush along the Keffi – Abuja expressway on the evening of the 18th of December 2018 on his way back from his farm. His farm is now a no go area, and abandoned for herdsmen to graze on his rice farm. 5) In Southern Kaduna, Gov El-Rufai is implementing his own version of religious progroms, and systematically wiping away hundreds of Christian farming villages. Farmers are now refugees in IDP camps. They can't access thier farms due to unrelenting killings and kidnappings. El-Rufai's indolent son refers to this mindless killings as "sweet revenge". 6) In Kwara state, Ex-naval chief, Vice-Admiral Samuel Afolayan's, 20 hectares of orange plantation, 20 hectares of cassava farm and 5 hectares of palm plantation was burnt by herdsmen. The farm was about 500 hectares and damages were out at over N200 million. To put it in his words, Admiral Afolayan said “The burning of my farmland has become an annual routine". President Buhari and his IG of police kept mute. Till date no single herdman or culprit has been apprehended. Agric revolution indeed!! ![]() 7) Many rice farms of prominent Benue and Plateau public figures who spoke up against the obnoxious Buhari cattle colony and subsequently the rubbished RUGA, were simply set ablaze by herdsmen and whatever was left was grazed on. Buhari again pretended nothing was amiss. As usual, he and his govt played dumb and mute. Till date, nobody has been arrested. These few examples represent the true face of Buhari's agric revolution. Believe this Agric Revolution lies at your perish |

post=94211089:Food security is about food availability and food accessibility/affordability. Nigeria has never had a food problem. There has always been food in Nigeria since 1960. It's not d coming of buhari that made food available in Nigeria. D problem is food affordability/accessibility. People can't afford to eat what they want in d quantity & quality that they want. Between 2015 and now, d price of a 50kg bag of rice has increased from 10k to between 25-30k without corresponding increase in income for d general populace. So what exactly is d revolution here? |
