SC genotype (also known as Hb SC) is a type of genotype. It is different from Hb SC disease which is a type of sickle cell disease. Having an SC genotype does not automatically mean that you would develop the Hb SC disease. And should the person even develop the disease, it is mostly not as severe as the more common variant of sickle cell diseases.





I think they were having a blood genotype discussion. So, making the revelation fits the occasion more. There is no better time to make the revelation than in a discussion centred on genotypes.
