pluto09:It has nothing to do with desperation, rather it's about addressing the core fundamentals. in the end the FX market going forward will have more sanity. Luring FPIs with 18% OMOs, that you can call desperation. |

It clearly shows that you are living in a country that works from the way you reason, i have always maintain that Nigerians are good people rather the government is the problem, when there are no consequences people will always be emboldened to do illegal things. Dum20: |

| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by awesomeJ(m): 2:06pm On Sep 23, 2020 |
Dum20:I agree with you on this. Why should anyone divert intervention funds worth billions into private use without consequence? But it's not the Nigerian selling gala or excelling in sports that Ahib is talking about. What he is saying is that there is a crop of nigerians who are the ones sabotaging the nation's progress. They're the ones making $20bn dissappear from NNPC, keeping $37m cash in Ikoyi, smuggling fuel and running subsidy cabal, etc You can't say because there are Nigerians excelling in sports and academics, that these other folks he refers to aren't Nigerians. |

ahiboilandgas:Why do Nigerians follow rules in the diaspora? Who ensures this happens? |
| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by XiaoLi: 2:07pm On Sep 23, 2020 |
What is the consequence for those who bypass their meter? Like someone said here it is not the responsibility of that boy selling gala in the traffic to go after those who bypass their meter. In my country of residency bypassing or tampering with your meter attracts 7 years imprisonment without fine! awesomeJ: |

Dum20:I think you're making his point still. Why did the drug fakers thrive before late Dr Akunyili? There was a Nigerian heading Nafdac, and he/she did things the usual way, and the drug market was a mess. Now Akunyili came as an exception and did things the right way, and there was sanity. Your attack on his points would only be valid if he said all Nigerians are bad without any exceptions. |

That is because the system in their countries are more stringent That's what you are missing As long as it is in Nigeria here as it is today Even British will fail Ask Strive Masiyiwa and Richard Branson what they faced during their sojourn here That will give you an idea |

| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by awesomeJ(m): 2:25pm On Sep 23, 2020 |
DexterousOne:I don't think the system would collapse though. People who would hoard their dollars at home or ship them abroad are thesame ones that are currently holding them idly in Dom accounts. So net difference is near zero. However there's ba good chance that a number of them would not be comfortable with those options of keeping millions at home or smuggling cash out, so they'll just give up. |
| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by XiaoLi: 2:26pm On Sep 23, 2020 |
That is where the government comes in, in a country that works nobody is ever bigger than the government..it is only in a country like Nigeria you will hear this kind of stories and excuses why the person that bypass his meter and the accomplice cannot be tamed due to government failure. ahiboilandgas: |

DexterousOne:What that wrong turn? -i'm asking as wanting to know. I don't like blame games, but i think the reserves at 2014 should have been over $100bn if previous governmentS had handled our FX resources well enough. |

What was the consequence after be looted the money, give Norwegians, Americans, Brits the same soft hand they will do more than that. This people are not better people than just that their government is putting everybody in check and making sure there is consequence ..that is why their country is working. ahiboilandgas: |
