BS!

BFP
So, while dressing up for a training that fateful January morning, I realized my period was meant to have showed up. I made a mental note to pad up so it does not disgrace me at the training. Just as I was pulling out the pad, I saw one remaining pregnancy test strip in the bag (hubby and I actively tried two months before and after 6days of delayed period and false hope, aunt flo came in torrents; reason I still had an available test strip). I just decided to use this last one and dispose so I could put my mind to rest. Tested, placed on top of the pack on the table and went ahead to finish up dressing. One look at the test strip and I saw two huge lines staring at me... Jesus! My very first BFP... Wao... Was I really prepared for this? Next was to call hubby and we both called my mom... yen yen yen (you know the drill...the oohhs and ahhhhs and do's and don'ts). Blood test and abdominopelvic ultrasound were all positive with the good news.

First Trimester
Mehn, first trimester came with lots of nausea and tiredness, no vomiting though... I could only take sprite and fanta for a whole day. On some other days, I craved something and went all the way to find it on such days, no matter the stress ooo. One time like that, my craving was sniffing mint money, lol... Hubby had to change money to mint ni, I go just arrange am for purse, small time, I go comot am to inhale... chei God! Aside some of these silly things, first trimester was somewhat uneventful and I commenced ANC at 10wks +6days (EDD: 11th September, 2020).

Second trimester
Second trimester came with spitting which stopped after a while. Then came the excruciating pains of myoma degeneration... kai... ended up in the hospital and there started my journey into using opiods to stop the pains when they start. This was about the 18th week and that was when I was told I was going to have a princess. Appetite improved and I rested the most part. When we were about rounding off, my feet started swelling, though no other symptom of preeclampsia was on the radar. So I just cruised past.

Third Trimester
I was quite expectant. I actually felt I would port to August sincerely cos my bump was big sha, at least compared to my slim frame. I finished packing my bags by week 32. Eh he, thirst from nowhere... I was drinking water on a regular, each trip to quench my thirst saw me downing nothing less than two chilled satchet water and in a day, I could finish 10-12 satchets of water or more. Frequency in urination and insomnia started full time... I was so jealous watching Hubby sleep most nights, lol.
Anyway, August jejely passed me by, so my porting dream died a natural death. Hehe!

Labour and Delivery
Woke up on Sunday 6th September, 2020 about 5am and realized I was having contractions at 39wks + 4days. the contraction timer app on my phone showed it was somewhat regular initially, then just became irregular most times. So by 6am, woke Hubby up and we went for a long walk. Came back, rushed and made food but nausea could not let me eat well and having vomited the week before also while eating Sunday rice, I was scared of vomiting again(I usually do not vomit). We had some errands to run so we set out but with my bags in the car. I insisted on a brief stop at the hospital first before we started our wakawaka. Got there, my cervix could only admit the tip of the finger... yuck... on top this discomfort! Okay ooo. Sha, show started dropping after the examination. I was advised not to travel far though and to come in if anything changes.
By the time we were leaving the first place to the second that evening, na better pain dey worry me though contractions were still irregular. By 9pm, I could not bear it any longer, had my bath and left with Hubby to the hospital. Brethren, I was just 2cm gone... oh Lord! I sha told them I rather stay the night than go back home and was admitted for observation. Had contractions throughout the night, could not sleep... Hubby was there all through (God bless that man everyday!) rubbing my back and praying. I practically had to beg him to get some sleep which he succumbed to almost at dawn. I was hopeful that we should have made progress as per dilation by Monday morning (7th September, 2020). My dears, morning came and I was just about 4cm. Dear Lord! Infact, contractions stopped just before that examination. My obstetrician just told me he was going to augment labour... haaa, me sef know how painful that stuff can be just by observing my own patients... I just laughed and told him I was not prepared for it. He just said he'd send for me later. Men and brethren, I was sent for ooo and misoprostol tabs inserted... within 15mins, the real madness started... there was no breathing space, the contractions were just hitting me back to back... no position could make it better... I lay down on the hospital floor, knelt down, walked on all fours, lai lai... the tears started flowing, I was shaking the hospital bed eh... Christ! I remember telling my lovely husband he should not touch me again, to avoid slap... next moment, I was apologizing, lol. I saw myself going into another realm... just told hubby to go tell the doctor to section me. My doctor sent for me, I was taken to the labour room, behold, I was 8cm gone within one hour. Next thing, these people set up an infusion and added oxytocin to it... I just asked my doctor "Chief, do you want to kill me?" Kai... poo catch me by force, but I had pooed twice way earlier that morning and there was actually nothing to poo again, lol. Within 15mins, I was fully dilated, they were encouraging me to push but nah, at that point, I was exhausted... very exhausted. I just could not. I only kept saying "please section me"... my obstetrician begged, encouraged, said he could see baby's head... I just could not... I was not seeing anymore, I just wanted to sleep and I begged them to let me sleep. So I was taken to the theatre and knocked off with general anesthesia (I travelled to the US and was performing surgery on someone sef, lol). When I started coming to, I was being stitched up. Over time, my eyes became less heavy and I could open them well and communicate coherently. By the second day, I was walking around though the pains sha. My princess weighed 3.7kg at birth (2.7kg was estimated fetal weight on my 36wks obstetric ultrasound...I was hoping las las, we no go pass 3.2kg at birth...for where?)
Currently still healing... baby colics be keeping us awake at night... but we are surviving.

Good morning mommas, while I was bringing out cucumber from the nylon it was in, it fell from my hand and hit my baby(one side of his forehead). He was asleep when this happened. He didn't when move his body, he continued sleeping. I didn't touch him either.

And to think that I had imagined the cucumber falling on his head before the accident.

This happened on 15th Sept, he hasn't shown any abnormal sign. No bump, no bruise. He was 5 weeks when this happened.

Do I need to be worried? I will be seeing a Pediatrician on a different issue(catarrh) next Monday, 28th Sept. Should I relate it to him?

Any experience/suggestion?

Baby dust to all TTC mothers!

BS!

Hehe!

Cucumbers doesn't carry much weight and didn't have much impact on him otherwise he would have cried or woken up when it happened. But there no harm in telling the doctor on your visit to check him too.

Pls mamas, I keep on having this stomach ache like I want to poo since 4 days now. The first poo of the day is usually normal but the second is watery and then this stomach ache with the urge to poo. Someone said that itz because the baby is turning.

Pls experience mamas, is it something I should be worried about?
