Alex Iwobi hailed Everton's strength in depth as he spoke of his desire to give Carlo Ancelotti a selection headache.

The 24-year-old scored his first goal of the season as he completed 90 minutes at Fleetwood Town to help the Blues into the Carabao Cup fourth round with a 5-2 win.

Iwobi's goal came early in the second half just moments after the home side got back into the game following an error by Jordan Pickford and he told Sky Sports of his hopes of featuring more regularly in all competitions this season.

He said: "Our performance tonight showed the confidence and the quality we have.

"We've got strength in depth and were able to rotate the team and get a performance today so it shows we have a good team for the season.

"It was good experience for me to get 90 minutes under my belt as I'm trying to get fit for all competitions so it was good for the manager to give me the opportunity today.

"It's always good to score but the main thing is the team goes through to the next round so I'm glad I was able to help.

"Everyone wants to play so hopefully I can give the manager a migraine and get involved as much as I can.

"Fleetwood changed their formation second half and were more attacking, they're a good team as they showed by getting two goals against us but we were able to withstand that and we pleased to be going to the next round.

"We're targeting every competition every season, if you're in it you have to try and win it so hopefully we can beat West Ham as well."

Everton will now face West Ham at home in the fourth round next week

My point remains Liverpool don't use an AMF at all. [The major function of AMF is to link the midfield with the attackers
Can we now say because firmino drops deep he nows plays as an AMF most modern CF do drop deep ranging from Gabby,osihmen,and Tino.
N.B tielemans is a CMF not AMF he is a Box to Box midfielder.

Wow !!! Watch him a youth level.

Actually I watched him at Manchester city academy. Even then he was simply an out and out striker with limited technical ability.

He was not the best technically but at youth level his left gave him an edge.

But fast forward to the Senior game and that is not enough, you need more.

It may be good enough for the SE currently but that doesn't mean he is outstanding.

Just means we have lower standards in the SE and lack true quality options upfront.
