A Nigerian man has been released from Ikoyi prison in Lagos state on Thursday, September 24 2020, after spending 7 years in there for a crime he knew nothing about, IgbereTV reports.

Lawyer and writer, Malachy Odo, who facilitated his released, recounted how he got involved in helping the man secure his freedom.

I'm sure this is same thing that will happen over the new wind of RAPE claims. Many things tag as rape are not rape. Most are consensual sex gone bad others are sexual knowledge with minors which many are consensual. But to nail whoever is involved tag it rape and gain public sympathy. Other rape claims are mere blackmail.

I fear this world.. So what happens to him now... Is that justice enough.. 7 years of his life has gone. Is his time in jail going to be expunged so as not to be known as an ex convict? Will he be compensated?
