Babysho:Your trusted family member has ripped you off N100/$. Go and demand the balance. How will your friend not have her own bank account when it is as easy as ABC? |

Experience4u:Student visa 500 to Regional visa 489 (now replaced with 491) to PR 887. PS. The new 491 can't lead to 887, the condition for 491 to PR is making minimum of $53k in at least 3years out of the 5years duration. There are some other classes of visa that can lead to 887 (495, 496, 475, 487) |

Babysho:As of today being the 24th of September, the AUD dollar rate is $267.50 (source is world remit), mind you, it goes up and down from time to time, but am sure it would have been higher as at when your friend received the money. |

Experience4u:Got mine Via 190 (state nomination). My student visa subclass as at then was 573 (streamlined visa processing) which was much easier and faster (without bank statement and IELTS). I finished from Uni in 2018, and applied for 485 (2 years temporal graduate visa) that same year. In 2019, i started my Professional year to claim some points on and also got the required IELTS score. I also got a job that helped with my skill assessment. I applied for 190 visa late last year before the pandemic, and got approved last month. i know it took some time cos some of my friends got theirs earlier, but as you know, no case is the same. i just thank God it ended well. |

Skyrocket1:Congrat bro!! Please, I have 3 questions to ask. 1)Did you learn and enroll for NAATI to boost your Pr points? 2)If you look back at your journey from the Msc to getting your Pr now. What advice will you give upcoming pals like me with regards getting the Pr swiftly after Msc without facing any avoidable hurdles you might have faced to get your Pr? 3)Also, how is the dating/relationship life in Aussie from your own perspective? |
| Re: Living In Australia/life As An Australian Immigrant by Skyrocket1: 3:19am On Sep 25, 2020 |
Ikjosh04:1). No, I didn't learn or enrol for NAATI to claim points. 2). be well informed (this is very very important) so that you don't make any silly mistake that might cost you from getting your PR. Also be smart and have foresight. 3) to be honest with you, i don't really know how to answer this question. dating/relationship life in Aussie is all about equality, if you are the typical African man type, i would say you shouldn't go for a white lady cos there are 70% chance that it wont work, even some black women here will not tolerate that,But if you are ready to embrace gender equality, then you can go for a white lady. i hope i have answered your questions?!. |

Ikjosh04:You shouldn't be even thinking about this but if it happens fine, honestly most ppl that i know are living in regret, some old folks have to go back to naija to remarry secretly. Some are left in the lurch due to the waiting period of two years to get partner visa, the other party call it quit and they have to start all over again. There are many other pathways better than putting yourself in an uncertain situation. Also, over 60k backlog of people are on waiting list for partner visa, some are there for over two years and at the end of the day, you will find out that those that struggle to get their PR are ahead of you while you doing everything to satisfy your Aussie bride for things not go south. Your best bet is schooling in a state that 190 or worst-case scenario 491 is guarantee after studies. PS: Ask on the student thread about experience regarding dating Aussies talkless of marriage. |

Skyrocket1:Lol yes, thank you. bligs:Hi Bligs, thank you for airing your view on the question but I must say the beginning of your reply threw me off balance. For clarification, that part of my question wasn't about dating OZ girls. The question was about dating/relationships in Australia and not limited to OZ girls. I'm in my early 20s and so I think it's right I get as much information I can lay my hands on as regards my future and coming to Australia. Thank you once again for your reply and the assistance you are giving to everyone with the pursuit of coming to Australia. From my research, the key point I have come to understand about Australia is Information rules the country so I try to get informed as much as I can. Warm Regards. |

Ikjosh04:I am not trying to scare you, just saying that shouldn't be your priority but if it happens fine. Dating is allow across all race and you may even be fortunate to meet a very good Aussie, everything is up to you and what you want and on the other hand two years may pass without having a relationship. You are right, information is paramount and make sure you align with the right set of people. |

ogbevireo:Always attach yourself with people that are willing to share valuable information with you whenever they have, and you in turn would do same so as not to miss out on a clear PR opportunity. Also, when you feel the time is right for you to submit your visa application, please do so without proscratinating cos no one knows tomorrow, some of my friends failed to apply for 190 last year, and are now being forced to go back to student visa or partner visa (190 is currently on hold in my state due to the pandemic) to stay in the country pending when the state govt start receiving applications. That's my explanation. |

Babysho:Haba, what sort of human being is that? Such a dishonest human being he or she is. The money would hit the person's account in Naira, why not request for the person's bank statement to see how much hit his or her account and Australia's exchange rate is not 180 per dollar. This life ehn, people reap where they did not sow. |

| Re: Living In Australia/life As An Australian Immigrant by Nobody: 8:17am On Sep 29, 2020 |

| Re: Living In Australia/life As An Australian Immigrant by Smile4mee01: 8:52am On Sep 29, 2020 |
Danny6552:I am not a plumber oo. But man many hand work guys here are very ok as long as you know your craft. Why don't you go to their immigration website. See of plumbing is there and take it from there especially if you have years of experience and can prove it. Good luck. |
| Re: Living In Australia/life As An Australian Immigrant by bligs: 11:42am On Sep 29, 2020 |
Danny6552:5m should be enough for all the process but you will need government accredited certificate in plumbing or OND and at least minimum of one year working experience to get a positive assessment from TRA https://www.tradesrecognitionaustralia.gov.au/ Danny6552:There are roof plumbers, gas plumbers and your regular PVC plumbers, the most important thing is that plumbing is selling. |
