Well, I am a Web Developer, Mobile App Developer (Android), Certified Ethical Hacker, Programmer, Java Script Writer as well E-Commerce Developer. I am currently studying Python, AWS as well as E-Commerce on Mobile Application (Android) with Appin Technology Lab in India. I have many clients that i have built websites for them and they are extremely happy.

In Nigeria IT is a marketable profession but we are not been taught up to the level to compare other developed Countries e.g India, UK,US etc. Even Aptech and NIIT don't teach the latest IT Courses, Its better professionals who have these experiences should come forward and teach those who are inspired to become an IT guru. We are lacking behind in terms of IT ideologies.

The amazing thing is till date those people are still my clients even after I moved from freelancing to running my own startup called www.codefixbug.com and they make up 10% of our client base.

Download android studio, get some resources online, read and practice.

There are other tools for hybrid apps too. I hope you know the difference between hybrid and native.

For apps that needs to communicate with a backend, i personally use PHP and MYSQL, then i send data back and forth uaing REST API calls.{json}

I have been doing web development. But I am planning to port App dev. Your knowledge would be helpful.
To be clear native app are the ones coded with purely JAVA and PHP right?

Java, and preferably kotlin is the supported language for Android Dev.

PHP on the other hand is a server side language that handles communications between your app and the database.

To build apps that communicates with a relational database you use PHP - MySQL (Relational database) and consume the response in whatever format you are vast in. Preferably, JSON. This is just one out of many ways.

HTML
CSS for web design
JavaScript as your first programming language after;

The above is what you will need to start your path for Front End Stack(which is the part of the website(s) that you see).
Then to go with the trend learn a framework/library like:
React,
Angular,
Vue,
Svelte;

After if you still need more, delve into Back End with either
Express(which you'll need to learn node for)
Django(python)
Laravel(PHP) etc;

Check out dennis ivy's youtube channel for django, i do not know for node.js. Before doing web, #i recommend u learn how you learn how to make smiple programs or how they work(logic), do not just follow tutorials(repeat what the instructor is doing) try changing somethings or redoing the tutorials but tweaking somethings to get a hang of how they work. Do not be scared to experiment.

yeah I don't think the time people spend in niit is enough to make them professionals. I've noticed web development is not easy as I was told actually. backend scripting and nice UI for your application software.
the road to professionalism is not easy at all

I won't lie to you I wanted to be a web developer but after seeing all the saturation due to low barrier to entry I decided not to do again.... I am now thinking of app development or cybersecurity
