A bad keyboard can make your laptop to malfunction, I'm suspecting your keyboard is bad and need replacement.
It is not virus.

No I don't think it's keyboard. Even the on screen keyboard doesn't work sometimes and the Ctrl keys keep pressing automatically (as displayed in the on screen keyboard)..the overall OS is not functioning as it should.

You can reinstall the operating system and see, start from the easiest,though I'm suspecting a bad keyboard.

My PC battery does not charge anymore but the charger is working and the power indicator still blinks. The battery percent has remained at 90 which was the last time it charged since I encountered the problem. No matter how long I charge, it does not increase or reduce. It's just there at 90 percent.

Without being plugged to Light, the laptop does not switch on even with the battery at 90.

Could the problem be the battery or something else.

you obviously have a bad battery and needs replacement, the original and new battery is 15k as being told by the engineer, but fairly used battery will cost less like 5k, 6k or 7k. but at a reduced battery run time. it's not advisable to be using the system as a desktop without battery, in case of electricity suddenly off, and system shutting down abruptly, it tells on the hard disk and ram in the long run

I replaced the initial keyboard with a new one about 4 months ago. But the problem started yesterday....Thanks for the suggestion I'll heed to it and see how it goes

Yea...coupled with it's an old system. In fact buying London used is a no more for me. Too many issues and a bad battery

Well for me I don't see any big difference between a new laptop and a London used laptop.

Apart from warranty.

It's rare to see London used that comes with follow come battery that lasts 4 hours straight on heavy use. Also most of em are outdated and old.

One of my hp laptop when switched on goes off immediately. And when switched on, i hear the fan come on aggressively for few seconds then shuts down, again it keeps repeating the same process.

The same problem happened the day before yesterday, but after some hours, it started functioning normally, only to switch it on this morning & face the same problem.
please what could be the problem? Am taking it to the technician tomorrow & wouldn't want to come off as a novice, so as not to be exploited.

Do you know that some London use can be pass as new?

Unless the London use laptop didn't come with battery and the seller have to buy a new battery here to fix it.

All you just have to do is ask for warranty, if he guarantees you 4hrs then it should be 4hrs.

Anyways it's your choice though.

Come off as a novice, how?

Well maybe the processor coolant as dried up or a mobo issue.

Just tell him what's wrong with your laptop to help him fix it without having to waste your time.
That's all.

Very wrong...... I sold a couple of UK used laptops in my days of hustling..........

I got a message from a chap last week, the laptop he bought from me 5 years is still functioning 100%......... He only changed the battery after 4.5 years........

His friend wanted a laptop, hence him getting in touch with me........

I did the reset (although I decided to keep files) and after more than an hour of waiting. The problem still persisted....you may be right after all.

Actually, you didn't have sleep mode because during the update, Microsoft un-installed your display driver and installed the Microsoft basic display adapter (which didn't have sleep mode) for you. Then when you connect to Internet, your PC automatically downloads your driver back and give you your sleep mode back.

Avoid 1909, it's the worse version of Windows 10....... Very unstable laden with warehouses of bugs........

The only issue I'm having with it is that the fan makes noise which I think can be regulated. Is it normal for the laptop fan to make noise?.

Maybe the fan vent is clog up with dirt, you need to service it but there is no dirt, then fan is faulty and need replacement.
