I think there should be a thread or section for traditional beliefs or African religions.

Those that follow African beliefs, voodoos, are you on nairaland?

I only started reading about Traditional Religion two weeks ago. I'm currently studying books about IFA divinity and I am liking it already.

I practice a lot. I also discovered a. Lot of similarities with the west African religions in Australia, papua New Guinea, South America and more.

Ogun is the vodun of war and patron deity of smiths and craftsmen. He was sent to earth to make it a nice place for people to live, and he has not yet finished this task.

This is great. Hope no problems so far in your study?
The problem I'll most likely have is my understanding of the Yoruba language while studying IFA. I'm not Yoruba

You don’t need to be Yoruba and I’m also not Yoruba. I’m Igbo. I study a lot of African religions and even as far as Papau New Guinea. They even have an Ikenga system over there.

Ifá is practiced throughout the Americas, West Africa, and the Canary Islands, in the form of a complex religious system, and plays a critical role in the traditions of Santería, Candomblé, Palo, Umbanda, Vodou, and other Afro-American faiths, as well as in some traditional African religions.

If you are not Yoruba then its pointless studying Ifa. Unless for research purposes.

If that is the case and you think judaism is an authentic religion, then you are not that far from new testament christianity. Jesus wasn't against judaism per say, he only said he is their anointed one bringing the kingdom of God to them and teaching them the new ways of the kingdom. That is the major difference here, the writers of the story of jesus ( especially Mark and Matthew) considered his story as a continuation of that of jewish story leading to it's fulfillment in the grand scheme of things.

I am not saying you must accept the Christian Bible, but I'm saying for someone who considers judaism and Tanakh authentic, your constant criticism of jesus and christianity is surprising.
It's just like saying Buddhism is so false while Hinduism is authentic and true.

It's all paganism... It's all Sun-worship. From Christianity to Judaism to Islam to the so-called traditional African religion. It's the same Idolatory. As it was in Egypt and Babylon, so it is today. As our people, the children of ISRAEL were idolatrous, and followed other nations to serve gods of wood and stone, so it is today.

It's the reason they are angry about any message that calls our people to repent and keep YAHUAH'S commandments.

But God never told anybody to believe in the Messiah or give their life to him or that he was coming to die for their sins..jesus has got nothing to do with God..it is and was never Gods idea..

Christianity as a religion is just a rebranded paganism by rome ..they just added their scriptures at the end of the tanakh to deceieve people..
The new testament is not a continuation of the tanakh.God can not tell you "though shall not kill" and be expecting you to offer him a human sacrifice..

See my thread "the new testament ,a closer look.

lol, your understanding of christianity is very shallow indeed. Anyhow I'm quite busy now, would reply your points later but this your talk of human sacrifice is hilarious. Even if you are correct that christianity demands human sacrifice ( of which I don't know where you got that from), what about the human sacrifice demanded by your African traditions?

You still dont get my point..the whole idea of christianity is against the laws of God..it cant be of God...
The Jesus story has got nothing to do with the jews. It was emperior constantine that wanted a single religion for his empire and gathered the presbyters to Nicea ..the product of that council was Christianity..

All of the world, religions that are not Christianity and Islam are similar.

Even in Japan where their language is similar to the Igbo language, you will find a lot of similarities in the Edo and Igbo religions.

So your knowledge of christianity starts with Constantine? There was no christianity before constantine? Have you read the Didache( written around AD 70-100)?

Also concerning human sacrifice, if you are an adherent of African religions that also has a history of human sacrifice in the tenets like in most of the world, then how does this click with the Tanakh and Torah?

There are so many similarities between Christianity and Buddhism, and even Christianity/Taoism, just that the christianity you know is Roman catholic christianity and her protestant children.
