Izzy promised last year to defend his middleweight title this year and then move to the light heavyweight division next year. As it stands, I don’t think there is any serious completion for him in the middleweight anymore. He will have to move to the light heavyweight division sooner or later.

So, the clash with Jon Jones is inevitable. However, it will be very unwise to right Izzy off. Dominick Reyes clearly showed us that Jones can be defeated. So many UFC fans would still argue till today that Reyes won the fight and not Jones. Jones is also aging gradually so by next year when Izzy is ready, anything can happen.

Don't get ahead of yourself just yet, there are so many variables involved in combat sports, one mistake and it's goodnight. Remember McGregor was riding an even more spectacular crest, till Khabib beat the sh*t out of him, nobody really saw that coming. Regardless, Izzy is a talented fighter, he just needs to diversify his brand and become the next cash cow in the game. When it's all said and done, it's all about money.

Remember jim Jones have moved to heavyweight. There is a new light heavyweight champion today.
Jim jones fight vs izzy will not happen till maybe when one is totally out of their prime which will not be epic anymore.
