Please I got a mixed Caucasian puppy that is 16 weeks now,I don’t know much about dog. Three days ago I noticed that his stomach is getting bigger,called a friend that is a vet too,he came yesterday and gave him deworming tablet and an injection.but since three days ago my dog has been too weak and the stomach hasn’t reduced and he doesn’t eat again. I also noticed that his hairs started failing off,tangle and also he started having reddish boils under its stomach,which the vet said is because of the worm in his body.
I have been following must tread here and we have many good dog breeders and lovers.please help me out ,I don’t want to loose the puppy.thanks.

Am a vetirinarian an such condition is called Asities. It could either be a metabolic disorder arising from liver or kidney failure, it can also be parasitic when its caused by worms.
Use syringe to check if the fluid in the stomach is a clear one, if the fluid is clear like water, buy furosemide tablet and administer. It will enable your dog urinate the whole fluid out.
If the fluid is not clear, then you can consult the nearest vet clinic for further assistance.

Abdominocentesis by an untrained personnel is NOT FIRST AID, it is dangerous and can complicate the case. Can you vouch for the sterility of the needle, can you vouch for fidelity of the location to puncture. Please let's not encourage what is not simply because its an animal. Can you advise him to perform abdominocentesis on his sibling or family member?
