I am deeply worried that some nonentities don't have problem identifying with a country that doesn't work.

If you are not proud of your country, you need to start asking questions.

If you don't love your country, you need to ask why.

I have many friends in the United States and United Kingdom who will prefer to say they are Ghanaians to admitting their Nigerian identities.

We need to reassess this shithole

So many things have gone awry.

if Hausa-Fulani aren't scared of self reliance, let them called for roundtable, the secession of southern Nigeria would have been perfect if Ojukwu, Niger Delta and Yoruba participated in the Aburi accord meeting in Ghana

we should go back to renegotiate this backward country coexistence now and let's see who will agree to still stay under this Hausa-fulani oligarchy, supremacy and domination

this country had only benefitted politicians and their appointee just because of one useless constitution that had brought nothing but bad luck to Nigeria as a Nation

The Igbos have a good relationship with the South South

The two regions effortlessly intermarry.

The two also share some cultural similarities.

The Igbos cannot force the SS to join Biafra.

If the Igbos can build a prosperous nation as many claim, the SS would love to join.

It's in human nature to want to identify with progress.

Population, if properly harnessed, offers massive advantage, as the United States, Lagos and China have shown.

Forcing the SS to become a part of Biafra against their will translates to creating another Nigeria in Biafra.

Well, that's a metaphor for a disaster

For those who just read the headline without reading the content, Boss Musty made this statement on sunday but the Oneness and unity peace and harmony among us will continue to wax strong against all odds

What oneness, unity, peace and harmony exists among Nigerians? If Nigerians were so united, Boko Haram terrorists and fulani herdsmen killers would never have been so successful in Nigeria. Tribalism won't thrive so much in Nigeria if we were one. Religious intolerance won't thrive so much in Nigeria if we were one. Violence won't thrive so much in Nigeria if we were one. Kidnapping, cult clashes, scamming won't thrive in Nigeria if we were one.

We better start telling ourselves the truth. With each passing year, Nigeria as a nation keeps degenerating. Our leaders know that Nigeria's future is bleak. This is why they use some of the money they looted from our national treasury to purchase citizenship by investment in the Caribbean and around the world for themselves and their immediate families.

This is why Nigerian leaders have sold Nigeria to the bloody chinese who flog Nigerian workers working in chinese factories in Nigeria, their own homeland and no one says anything. Chinese people have already taken over the African country Zambia. If we are not careful, Nigeria will be next.

Yet, Nigerian youths are too busy watching Big brother Nigeria and arguing blindly about whose tribe is more superior while the indian, chinese, lebanese and oyibo take over your country and ancestral land. It's very unfortunate.

See the wicked hypocrisy of the so called leaders in Nigeria? This nation has ever been a failed experiment & thoroughly divided entity from antiquity yet they keep on lying & deceiving themselve that Nigeria's unity is not negotiable.

Imagine them taking of prayers.Even God's word said "Can two walk together, except they agree" -(Amos 3:3) and "How blessed it is when brethren dwelleth together in unity"(Psalms 133). Developed nations of the world didnt evolve only via prayers but peaceful separation e.g.former USSR, Yugoslavia-Bosnia, North & Southern Sudan & now the UK etc.

OBJ was called the "divider on chief".Meanwhile the sitting president is simply the most bigoted & parochial type Nigeria has ever had. When ordinary Nigerians said this, the govt will tagged them as enemies of state or proscribed them as terrorists. So since there are more irreconcilable differences than what unite us,then it is advisable to breakup in peace.

@ Garba Shehu, Femi Adeshina & all the hireling zombies of the govt, what has changed now? Are Osinbajo, Boss Mustapha now wailers too? The worst thing that can destroy leaders is refusing reality or telling them what they only like to hear.Abacha fell in this category.
Echi di'ime...... tommorow get belle.
you've said it all. Religious intolerance go make the break up happen sooner than predicted But would they still accept the fact , even though same is staring them in the face. This is what would happen...North East would form their Islamic country but I fear the minority Christians would face series of persecutions. The UN would wade in with series of sanctions to rescue them but this will take decades of efforts.

South west would form oduduwa Republic. The region is more populated than 3 countries in Africa put together with lagos having over 20 million people so, they can stand on their own. The minority Muslims have no problems. They're learned and can take care of themselves. Religious tolerance is top notch here.

Niger felta or south-south too would form their own country. We gender alright. The minority Muslims here no get problems too

North West would follow suit with kaduna being capital. The minority Christians' lives are in the hands of God

South East too would form their own country. The population of each state is in the region in millions.

North Central would go. Where abuja would be, I don't know. The minority Muslims here would be alright.

It doesn't happen that way. Break up is for those that demand and push for it.
If in any case Nigeria is to break up, only the Igbos will leave. What we can't say for sure is if they will leave as just Igbo Nation or with Niger Delta minorities as Biafra.
So in any case, the state's that will emerge will either be New Nigeria and Biafra or New Nigeria and Alaigbo

The Niger Delta Crude Oil Money that has been keeping states in Nigeria united is no longer there.

Now no region want to BAKE THE NATIONAL CAKE for the others to consume freely.

WHAT THEN IS THE ESSENCE OF OUR UNITY.

The cracks in the country is just natural.

The soviet union went through that process.

Brother, your comments come from a very insightful place and I agree with all you have said.

Our fate has indeed being sealed albeit in a rather unfortunate and sad way.

But you see, I personally would rather fight to ensure that my future generations have a home to call their own, that keep quiet, arms folded. It is better to have a conflict now than to look back, 100 years from now and wish we had a conflict. Things keep getting worse by the day, what it means to be a human being in Nigeria keeps getting redefined, never mind defining what it means to be a citizen.

If we do not nip this thing in the bud, it will be what consumes us all.
DexterousOne:

Too late for your suggestion either

There is no way Nigeria will split without conflict and civil war.
And the powers that be both within and out there have already sealed our fate as one country

The best we can do is to see how best we can work together to probably salvage what is left of the country

Because the modalities for disintegration of a country like Nigeria is near impossible to achieve

We were not defined countries before we were amalgamated
Hence there is nothing to go back to undecided
These Colonialists and founding fathers really made a mistake
But it has been made
It's how to correct it

Maybe a canada model can help the country
Or a Switzerland model

Nigeria is not the most diverse country on earth
I wonder where all these hate and anarchy comes from

Well I know where it came from....

Politicians

Let's see and watch how things play out
But if I'm to take a bet

In 50 years from today
There would still be one entity called Nigeria

Sorry it doesn't happen that way, if the Igbos manage to leave, it will take many years for another groups plea to be looked into unless the group is ready for war like what is happening between Armenia and Azerbaijan today because of particular set of Armenians that refused to identify with the larger Armenians before the break up of Soviet Union. Infact quote me anywhere, if it would be just Alaigbo, ikwerre will never be part of it, they will be part of Nigeria as seen in that Armenia and Azerbaijan case where Nagorno-Karabakh (ethnic Armenians) chose to identify with Armenia on the eve of the breakup (barely a week before the breakup)

You are fuckingly(if I may use the word) on point.
I don't see why SS should be made to join Biafra if they are not interested in it. No need convincing anyone to join Biafra. If it gets to that time and just the five south east states are left standing so be it, because asking them to join without them having any interest in it is creating another Nigeria in Biafra. And this time it would not take this long to have another agitation or quest to break up.

Even the delta Igbos case will be extremely hard for the Igbos unless they identify with them now (voluntarily). Anything short of enuani in delta state will be hard for them to join Alaigbo based on international decision taking notes from what happened in Eritrea, South Sudan and Soviet Union. The worse is that they wouldn't even be included in the referendum if there will ever be one because referendum will be for the disputed region which the Nigerian lawyers will argue is only south east Igbos with evidence of South south politicians quote over the years (that they are not Igbo) and in legal matters the term Igbo is entirely different from Delta-Igbo. Nigeria will argue that they are different ethnic groups and with all the evidence on ground it will be extremely difficult for Ndigbo to claim anything past enuani. The rest will remain with Nigeria
