Gmajor: Obviously, the common denominator isn't black comedy, albeit some have dark humour in them (The Bar, Free Fire, Last Exit). Theme is the common denominator. The theme→how far will you go for 'x'. |

Jean Claude Van Damme's sudden death just got its sequel. I've lowered my expectations to the barest minimum... seeing it cus I believe with Michael jai white, there might be some good martial arts scenes.

nani 667:it isn't really a sorry state, as an X-Men fan we know Logan is one of the oldest mutants alive (far older than the professor even). if you watched THE WOLVERINE 2013, you will see a version of Logan that has lived a very long life and watched a lot of people die... he literally wanted to die. what I love the most about LOGAN 2017 was seeing a very old mutant who has been through a lot, finally finding an ounce of peace. |

Monty Python and The Holy Grail This movie has been constantly touted as one of the best comedy movies ever made, so I thought it was only appropriate that I had to see it. The movie is a comedy about the misadventures of a wacky King Arthur and his knights, who go through the realm on a mission to find the Holy Grail. MPTHG was released over 40 years ago, but funny enough, the movie still looks good. The movie was competently shot and as such it has managed to stand the test of time (for now anyway). However, after watching this movie, I can't help but scratch my head, because I don't get it. In a way, this movie is made up of skits and doesn't follow the traditional style of movies. I get that the movie is going for an absurd style of humour, format and storytelling, but I unintentionally found myself cringing for a majority of the movie. The only scenes that I thought were mildly amusing were King Arthur's interaction with the black knight and his interaction with a peasant who went on an anti-monarchy tirade. The rest of the movie was just unbearable. I don't know if I would have enjoyed this movie better if I had seen it 40+ years ago when it was made or if I was intimately familiar with the Arthurian legend, but I didn't really enjoy myself while watching this. 1 Like |
