It’s just sad that most successful immigrants don’t tell those of us still here the realities of life. If they did, nobody will sit in Nigeria and be telling someone that as a student you can “recoup” 4K in just a few months.

Na experience dey teach. We will all learn eventually.

Immigrant here.

Any prudent student that is not lazy and choose to work full-time during the summer can save more than 4K during the summer. In fact some “die” working during summer and save 10k for their tuition sef.

All these na small money during the glorious days of Oil and Gas industry in Alberta. Go and ask international students that did Safety watch during summer. They easily save more than 4K. Why? The job is usually longer hours, they fly you to the location, put you in a hotel and feed you when you on the field. I hope some people don’t start dreaming about it. Hahaha. It is real and some students still do it in summer.

4K is also small for prudent and single international student that are on full scholarship. For those not on scholarship, some schools give more than 5k after the first year of the International student have excellent grade. I know undergraduate international students that received about 10k every year from the University of Calgary till they graduated because they were maxing their GPA. It is not easy but they turned beast mode with their academics.

However, 9ja people can drain you out if you are not careful mehn. Most of them don’t care that you are student. Some won’t even know the school or city you are, but will ask you for money every time. This is where most international students spend their earnings because they have poor people that have turned them to ATM.

Don’t let us talk about international students that worked illegally because their hustle is against the legal system. The funny part is that some here, names withheld, did it to pay their tuition and living expenses. I think Some even say it here boldly after they graduated and immigrated. Read well and you may see. I don’t advise others to do it because it is too risky and can be detrimental to your future.

You don’t know what you don’t know. When you don’t know, ask the question “how” rather than argue that it is not possible. Hustle is hard in Canada. Hustle is real in Canada. However, Canadian hustle pays more than Nigerian hustle, and there are many legal ways to hustle and save more than 4K during summer.

Learn, but don’t learn rubbish. Learn from people that have successfully achieved what you want to achieve. I like your skepticism, but I want you to know you are wrong if you think it is not possible.

All the best.

Greetings gurus and angels in the house. Please, help me with suggestions that can make my application good.

Issue 1:
I'm to embark on PhD program, and I got CAD 21k scholarship (my tuition is 7k, so i have 14k for expenses), but my naira account has almost nothing because within 2018 to August 2020, I was in China for my MSc. However, I received a scholarship there in USD and had some cash savings to the tone of #2 million naira.

QUESTION: Will it be a good idea to lodge this N2m into my naira account and explain how the money came about in a LOE, backing it up with my MSc scholarship award letter? I discussed this with a friend before who said since I'm no longer on that scholarship, I should not upload the award letter. How then do I explain where a sudden 2 million came from?

Issue 2:
I am married (for 5 years) and now have a 6-month old child. My wife is self employed (does sales) but with no CAC registration.

QUESTION: How can I show that my wife can support the family at my absence?

Issue 3: Is just a survey plan enough for a landed property that's been developed/built to a level?

Issue 4: Is it possible to use a non-relation as a 3rd-party sponsor? Say a family friend, a politician or public office holder?

I will be glad to hear your informed suggestions. Thank you.

Btw, my SOP is written and I will be glad if can get someone to vet it for me. God bless!

In addition to what others have said, you can take pictures of your wife's business and include it in your application.

When you were in China, if you were sending money to her in Nigeria. You can state that to show that it's something you usually do. You can include a money transfer receipt as evidence.

You can include this in your LOE:
The fact that your family was able to survive when you were in China; they will do fine when you are in Canada.

Show there is a support system available for your family in your absence. If they have health insurance, you can state that as well.

Why would you want to leave your family for at least 4years? I think you should answer that in your LOE.
You can also mention scheduled visits to Nigeria.

All the best.

Good afternoon guys a friend of mine visa application was rejected and the reasons were
1They were not convinced of his home ties
2 They were not convinced that he was financial capable
I have been reading here on how you can get gcms notes to know the exact reason why visa was refused. Please how can he go about getting his own? Thank you guys.

got my notes yesterday.

Application ; July 5
Biometrics : August 24
decision on eligibility from gcms notes: July 23
I paid part fees(5kcad) in august

docs submitted:

waec cert
degree cert
ielts trf
all applicable imm forms

sponsor; my mum n aunty(a Canadian)

(mum)Her SOA with my estimated tuition and lil change
Her payslips, RSA SOA, Landed Properties , letter of sponsorship, tax clearance cert, letter of introduction from her job, docs to establish relationship with her sister

(aunty) her letter of intro from job, Tax assessment forms, affidavit of support , letter of support, Her SOA( balance of 10k+cad )- I used this for Proof of funds

I've been unemployed for a while now so I didn't submit my SOA

Home Ties: my folks and siblings

I actually applied to a two year diploma program at UCN, a college in Northern Manitoba cos of its cheap tuition.. I went for a program(CED) different from my undergrad course(Finance) . I get discouraged anytime I read an undergrad dip is dead on arrival but was able to tackle this on my Sop relating it with my association with YALI network with proof.

I got admitted at Niagara College as well for PGD but in all honesty, I can't afford such hence my reason for a cheap undergrad dip.

I started classes on Sept 8 and the experience so far has been awesome. Unfortunately, I would be disengaging today. I haven't been comminuted officially by IRCC but I'm happy I got my notes on time as I have until October 2 for 100% refund..

I really appreciate all those contributing selflessly on this platform.... I'm grateful

@Lekiboboe.... Much love... no homo..

I also noticed another person's application correspondence on my gcms notes.. guess its a mix up from IRCC...

So sorry for the delay.
I noted you stated that you had started classes, were you issued an AIP?

She's 17 and the refusal reasons doesn't make a lot of sense (especially the personal asset and financial status part).

Hello Sirromey,

Google GCMS notes. Websites will pop up, you can order from anyone you feel most comfortable with. We’re not allowed to post any third party link so I can’t post any.

Meanwhile, you can share his profile(age, course studied previously and level, course applied for in Canada and level eg msc, diploma... , current employment, marital status, number of kids, any work or study gap etc) and the documents he submitted, amount of funds he showed, so gurus can advise pending the arrival of his notes.

All the best

Hello Wisdom,
Google GCMS on Google and choose the website that you wished to order on. It costs between 15-20$.

If you have been rejected and need help, I encourage you to share your profile and rejection reasons and people will contribute to your cases.

That's the way to seek assistance.

I got admission in the university of Ottawa and applied for student visa. I paid fess and there was almost 20m in my sponsors(husband) account among other properties etc. I just recieved a refusal o.
Refusal was based on financial status and assets, family ties in Nigeria, travel history.

I was in the UK last year, and my husband and two children are with me in Nigeria.

What do you think should be my next course of action? Should I defer the admission and restrategise or go and do PR I’m confused.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chocs(f): 7:13pm On Sep 30, 2020
Hello,

Sorry to hear about your rejection.

Canadian visa isn’t just about available money. There are many little things that can break or make your application

Please share your profile (your age, marital status, number of kids, current employment, what you studied previously and the level; eg masters, diploma, what you applied to study in Canada and the level, any study or work gap) please also state all the documents you submitted. Did you submit any land document, business document? Did you submit your own bank statement? How much is your tuition for a year? What would be left for your husband and children (if any) after paying your tuition and living expenses?

Since you used a sponsor, did you prove their source of income? Eg payslips, letter of employement or business registration documents?

When you share the info, gurus would be able to advise accordingly.

Also the reasons you were given in your refusal letter is generic. To see the specific cause of your rejection, you need to order your GCMS notes. To do that, just google “GCMS notes sites” and you’ll see several websites you can order it from. It costs between $15-$20 and can take up to 35 days to be ready. Please order it immediately. From the notes you’ll see the visa officers concerns and you’ll be able to address it before replying if you decide to reapply.

Travel history is a rejection reason that often just goes with the others. It is rare to be rejected solely based on travel history alone

As for PR, if you have enough points you can go for it.

Exactly!

My sister's application status enquiry email (using the webform) was quoted in holluville 's GCMS note. holluville reached out to inform her, also send screenshot (Thank you so much brother). My sister just had her application refused for Purpose of Visit, and Personal asset and financial status, and this wouldn't make any sense because she is 17 years old.

Abeg, make una put mouth. I don't know what to think.

Have any 18 year old (or less), undergraduate (BSc) applicant been refused visa for Personal asset and financial status?
