USA fights the aggressors, not even ordinary citizens that collaborate with the State.The US rebuilds which no other country does hence it's not all about bombing.

Secondly, IRAN wouldn't fight US under Donald Trump because Iran understands reciprocity. US Military Generals with their corporate military complex wanted to bomb Iran when US Military drone was shot down by Iran in 2018 but Trump asked how many Iranians will die, the General gave estimate of 150 people which Trump said the Drone doesn't worth the death of 150 innocent Iranian and call off a plan that was already in the air.

Iran Supreme leader got the message and stopped bashing Trump directly for the gestures.

Well, Iran has repeatedly said it does not want war but would retaliate should the bully/aggressor attack them and i think they gave America a proportionate response in the January 8 attack by hurling missiles at U.S military bases in Iraq.

They passed a clear message letting the U.S know that they won't allow any attack go without a response. If Iran didn't do that America would have done worse after the killing of Soleimani.

Do you know what it means to attack a U.S military base injuring over 100 troops and all president Trump could do was bark and bark on twitter even after he had promised the Iranians hell and brimstone should they retaliate the killing of that General.

If U.S had taken a step further to escalate the incident after Iran retaliated, Iran too would have responded in kind. Confront a bully then that bully would think twice before messing with you next time.

I don't understand what makes Saudi Arabia smarter than Iran as you have posited.

Despite the many western imposed sanctions, Iran has been and continues to be highly ranked in key metrics of science and technology productivity and growth ahead of Saudi Arabia. Let us not forget they produce most of their military equipment unlike Saudi Arabia that depends solely on US and Western Europe. I am certain that if they had access to the resources Saudi Arabia has, they would be further along. Agreed there are other areas where they can do better such as human rights but even in this area they are better than Saudi Arabia or atleast as worse. Iran is also somewhat a democracy whilst Saudi Arabia remains a monarchy.

What people fail to realise is that the modern day Iranians are the Persians of old. They have a storied history and are a proud and resolute people. Their disagreement with the USA is primarily because of USAs consistent interference in Iran's domestic affairs dating back to the 50s when the CIA and MI6 kicked out their democratically elected leader Mossadegh. This was because the man wanted to nationalise his country's oil for the benefit of his people, I guess it did not sit well with the powers that be. And that single action by the US led to a series of events that ushered in the modern day Ayatollah led Iranian regime.

Now I know we in this part of the world are used to taking insults and remaining subservient but the Iranians are a different people, they were once a world power conquering many nations (and they were conquered too), and it is why they have stood and continue to stand against the USA. If they stop developing military weapons today, the US will invade them tomorrow. Infact the only reason this has not happened is because Iran has missiles that can strike US military bases and key US allies across that region.
It is not like in an all out war the US would not win, but the damage sustained will be too much for the USA.

This is why you won't see the US attack Iran, they prefer to use economic sanctions.
