During the NDA interview in 2012 while I was discussing with the RSM, he told us of how a new Lt. who had just passed out from NDA and was on peacekeeping mission in one African country almost blew their cover when he heard gunshots of the rebels.

They were lucky he didn't expose them, they survived and after the episode, the Lt always referred to the said NCO as oga, jokingly saying you saved my life.

Now, come to think of it, wetin we wan learn for 6/9 months weh we go compare to 30 years of peacekeeping experience.

To that one that was arguing about a 2nd lieutenant dealing with a WO/MWO, I laugh in Afrikaan. Seems you don't know what it takes to get to that level. Small boy wey just enter bush dey find respect with his 1 star lol. WOs are the real soldiers, they do all the dirty job, they have tons of experience, they don tey for service, they are usually old . Even generals respect them and don't talk to them anyhow not to talk of you wey carry 1 star or 2 star for chest. Fine in the military, you have to drop your age at home ,nobody gives a damn about it but it's limited. Generally, NCOs are not to be messed with, even privates, once some of them start nagging and grumbling against you then you have to start threading with caution, just pet them for your own good else it will get worse. That's for privates o not to talk of the older babas with the WO ranks.

If you no be brig.gen and above and you want to enjoy army work, just avoid being hated by your surbordinates else you'll be frustrated. You go lock this one for guard room, report that one, lock this one how many you wan lock? you go lock tire as in na you go tire.

Lol as far as those NCOs are concerned an injury to one is an injury to all and If you mess one up and his colleagues get to know you're the one behind it, na you go frustrate. If you want to enjoy the military, try not to be hated by your surbordinates.

As for the WO or MWO part, forget those guys are near untouchable. If you carry two or one star and he no salute you jejely waka your go in peace. Forget rank, they're aren't your mates at all. Even generals try their best to give them some respect. Also they have alot of loyalist which is part of what you lack. Even with a staff sergeant, you as a 2nd lieutenant will think before you act not to now talk of warrant officer loun loun.. If you dey find "morning sir" you can get it from those VV and V
