Seems you have never read the china ban, the china ban is a sweet name for banning the Chinese which its actually xenophobic, it would have been a good policy if it was done well, you ask me how ?, let me explain it wasn't a ban, it was porrous restrictions, the ban denied entry from foreign individuals who have been too “mainland china” at that time the virus was already taking over Europe, and direct flights still entered the u.s from Macau, Hong kong and Europe, even citizens and permanent residents entered like there was no ongoing pandemic, they entered with no tests or quarantining procedures, would have been a fine procedure if those were added, look up south Korea, the u.s and south Korea got there first cases on the same day, but the difference is south Korea have more competent leaders and obedient citizens, after those restrictions more than 50,000 people still entered the u.s from China, so you see that it had little to no effect, it was a useless op to save face.
