Now, the real reason that I love this song (and the reason that I played it every weekend 1996-2000) is not because of Michael Jackson, rather it’s because of Guns N Roses guitarist Slash.

Slash played the riff and the guitar solo on this song and the guitar solo is too sweet. It is absolutely wonderful. That’s the reason that I love this song.

Several people have featured on Michael Jackson’s songs, but (apart from Paul McCartney), they are usually not acknowledged in the song. Michael never said anything about Siedah Garrett (I Just Can’t Stop Loving You) or Eddie Van Halen (Beat It), but he actually introduced Slash before the guitar solo in this song.

The title of the song stands for Dom Sheldon, but Michael is actually singing Tom Sneddon.

I did a Jimi Hendrix series on my diary in 2014, but I think it was washed away by the data loss tsunami, so I'll post it again.

I was always fascinated by the story in this song. Seal also covered it in the late 1990s.

Don't bother yourself. They are talking about another heaven here. They're talking about Rockers' Heaven. IIf you must know this kind of heaven, then you must listen to the intro of Hell's Belll' and 'Highway to Hell''by AC/DC.
I understand him 'breaking on through to the other side' as the Doors put it but I don't know which Jimi he's supposed to be jamming with! Hendrix or Page?
As for Michael, he always preferred Slash to any other guitarist as shown at 1995 MTV Awards. They just sync seamlessly.
Rock and Roll is the genre that takes music from the blues into the black. Be wary of it.

I usually don't discuss my favourite rock songs because my taste is very ecclectic and I have had many favourites over many decades (anything from Paperback Writer to Paint It Black to Born In The USA to Smells Like Teen Spirit) and it can get very difficult.

I created a playlist on Windows Media Player in 2005 and I decided to only add my favourite rock songs and there were over a thousand songs by the time that I had finished.
