How can the FG ''approve'' a project at a 3.2 billion dollar cost if it is not budgeted, a contractor has not been identified, and a contract awarded?

Having a rail line from Kano to Katsina is already a non-viable economic endeavor, but going to borrow almost $2 B to extend it to a Niger republic city if Maradi is not only an economic treason, but a political crime committed against all Nigerians who suffer, because of the non functional eastern railway corridor.

There was an old line between Lagos and Kano, it just got so messed up that a new gauge had to be reconstructed.

I would have argued with you that no single country uses two gauges at the same time.

Just like no country allows cars with right hand and left hand drive at the same time in the same country. But, Nigeria isn't really a country and might not survive as a country for long. So it can allow 3 types of gauges in the country. No problems.

your hate for the north eh, but you should try and understand that although am also from the north I value my brothers from the south than anyone from any country aside naija, but the rail from kano to niger will be of huge economic importance because as it is Nigeria and Benin republic are competing on trying to convince the country to use their ports and Benin republic is clearly winning, but with this rail it's going to be a game changer, and may I remind you that with such in place the old glory of kano will be restored as it will be a place of trans sahaliain trade which will have an impact in the countrys economy.

If patronage of the port is the issue here, then common sense tells you that updating the eastern railway system first is the better so that eastern and western ports can be used effectively.
