I know that the NFF made a lot of changes when they renewed Rohr’s contract. Not sure whether working only with Nigerian assistants was one of those.

O pari

somehow:
Was his foreign assistants sent packing by the NFF before?

Edopesin:

At the bolded, Rohr will not bench one of his best players in a crucial tournament as the Afcon for Omeruo and using yesterday's game as a point because Ekong wasn't his best is just mischievous considering the fact that Ekong was our best defender in the Afcon and in the World cup. Ekong has been our best defender in the past 4 years and the armband he wears ahead of Balogun says a lot.

Ekong has been consistent for both club and country, his numbers are there for you to see. I cannot imagine Rohr keeping Ekong on the bench for any reason, It just doesn't happen in crucial matches unlike with balogun that is dispensable

Which Ekong? Omeruo has been the best so far.

Yes, I have criticized Rohr for the game plan he used with most of games in Russia especially against Croatia. However, he actually doesn’t play that style against African oppositions.

I don’t think he was ultra defensive on Friday. The main problem we had on Friday is that they overran in the midfield. We played with a makeshift midfield and that spelled doom for our game. In addition, that team needs a playmaker. We need to work harder about getting Ebere Eze to switch. Iwobi is not a true playmaker.

O pari

eazyjakes:

While rebuilding he should play to the strength of the team and be more dynamic with his tactics...He has lots of young and skillful offensive players and yet he is ultra defensive when he comes up against good teams. We still dont know what to expect wenever his team takes to the field....that has to change!....plus not all the players westerhof met in 1989 when he first took over were part of the 94 team but he had a clear vision of the pattern of play he wanted to acheive....we want to see some consistency as there will always be change of some players as the team progresses!

And same man picked a defender to play in the middle when he knew even his playmaker is not a natural no10. He needs to be smarter with his tactics wen he has personnel limitations and he does not have a clear cut objective for this team else whoever he plays will try n fit in to the big picture of the team! Rohr does not look like a man who does serious tactical tweaking/thinking with his team and his coaching crew before and during a game!

Omo, he has to use what he got. With Ndidi, Etebo, and Aribo all unavailable, what do you expect him to do? How you ever considered that maybe our team is NOT as talented or as deep as we tend to think it is?

In the 1994 team, we had a very deep bench. The same cannot be said if this team. We simply don’t have enough talent in every position. You can’t blame Rohr for that deficiency, the right players are simply not there. If they exist, we should them showing it at their clubs.

You have a point but a bunch of average players that are well coached can still make a good team. Keshi took a bunch of average and below average players and won an Afcon and qualified for R16 at the world cup despite that, that sucess was not sustainable. This coach has to dig deep and use what he has. I dont overhype this team but i believe thier talent level is decent enough for them to play better than they are doing!
Lets not forget that bar Aribo,he had most of his players last year against Algeria and his team still got skinned!

Almeria have been brought by an Arab Billonaire and they now have money to buy players and are pushing for promotion to la liga.
This is why they brought Sadiq Umar. They want to be the new Man City of Spanish football

This is a positive development. I said the same when one billionaire bought Slava Prague but they just laughed and called me names.

I await the response here.

@Icon79 stop this thing wey you dey do. cheesy grin. Rohr na confirm average coach. cheesy. He can do better with our current crop of players. How many of the outfield players that started our previous match were new to the team? There's no excuse to allow this team play that disorganized for the better part of 90 minutes. Rohr Out. cheesy

Vasco, simple question. Did his head and jumping translate to any positives for the team? Just say it as you saw it

I told u he won every aerial ball he competed for. How u are expecting him to nod these balls in his teammates feet is just mind boggling. Go back and watch Ighalo and Deeney play and u will understand how to play with a taller player. U are supposed to anticipate where the ball is going to go, how can u stand at 7 and expect the ball to magically drop onto ur feet

Watching Belgium vs England.
The pressing from Lukaku, de bryne and carasco is what we should emulate. They move TOGETHER like one unit and the understanding between their WBs and wingers is scary.
I would like to see how we would play against them if such a match can be organised.
I sometimes feel some of our players are either not fit or don't know when to move.
We shall get there.

Since our midfield is lacking, Rohr has no choice but to invite Nwakali and Azeez during the next break. There's no reason to omit them considering our lack of depth in that department.

Double standard, hypocritical bigotry .

If so many can mention Nwakali who has done ABSOLUTELY nothing in the last five years.

You really can not say anything.

In reality Nwakali can not even measure up to Fred Onyedinma who was pivotal in bringing his team Wycombe Wanderers to the Championship.
