People are here castigating ASUU without knowing what actually they are agitating for... OK let's do it this way, FG increased minimum wage to 30k and introduced IPPIS system.. Initially a Senior staff on Contediss 14 earns up to 300k after tax before IPPIS and minimum wage now earns less than 200k after the minimum wage increment under IPPIS.. Country people there is no smoke without fire. Ministry of Labour has a question to answer

How much are they paying you to be carrying propaganda for government?
All these people accusing ASUU, why can't you ask your "sincere" government why they always renege on their agreement with ASUU?
Bro, did you know why the FG has insist on IPPIS enrollment?
It's just for transparency, could you believe most of the FG institutions could not give an Audit of their spending for the past ten years when they were invited by the Senate committee to submit an Auditing report.
Yes, Lecturers go on sabbaticals and all others stuffs, all these are suppose to be well documented and are duely paid for by the government, FG is not against that, All it want is transparency, how will an institutions not be able to account for its expenditures, that is a gross corruption. We know public holders have their own too. But I am sure this will be a stepping stone for us in the fight against corruption.
Sooner or later the public holders will follow suit.

But ASUU said FG should send visitation panel to check all these things you mentioned but to no avail. What concerns ASUU with school management? If you are talking about corruption and mismanagement, I think the VC, Registrar, Bursar, and governing council should be blamed. Do you know that lecturers are queried or sacked for raising eye brow over mismanagement? The VCs act like god, intimidate and victimise any how because they are mostly appointed by government and not through fair election. Earnestly, these lecturers are trying even though they are not well paid like CBN, NNPC, FIRS, TETFUND etc. They need good welfare too because they help in making us what we're in different endeavours.
Let FG capture those things that are peculiar with academia as civil service is quite different and shouldn't be compared.

IPPIS will not effectively tackle the issue of transparency as you have pointed out. How will IPPIS stop the fraud committed by VCs when awarding contracts? Note that these VCs are appointed by fg.

If fg really want to fight corruption in universities, IPPIS is not the most efficient. ASUU has developed UTAS which will be transparent while also allowing for the peculiarities of the university system but the AGoF, MoF and minister of labour are still trying to blackmail the ASUU members into joining the IPPIS using hunger as a weapon.

Last year, the AGoF claimed the peculiarities of the university system had been taken care of, thereby, deceiving members of NASU and SSANU into joining. Now they are on strike because of the same IPPIS.

There are several aspects of the IPPIS issue. The truth is, the AGoF and MoF are not being sincere. The real reasons for the forceful attempt to make university staff enrol on IPPIS are being hidden from the public. I can't wait for ASUU to expose them.

Lol,it seems you're in 300level.
We have professors, deans, provost and HOD's that play a major role in the management system, and most of them are all under ASUU, so stop saying wetin concern ASUU with school management.
We want transparency bro, these institutions have the largest number of workforce and also take almost one third of the country's total budget yearly. When there is transparency, funds allocated will be spent accordinly and the VC won't be able embezzle the fund or what have you. The Union will not be fighting course with nothing show for it at the end of the day.
My brother, transparency is the only way out, Else those you mention will continue to embezzle the funds meant for the school. I just hope they find a lasting solution to it asap, cos we are too greedy in this country.
Help the government to help your school.
Good day.

All this 'we will soon expose' shows you have nothing to expose and you are just grandstanding.

If you really have something to expose, call for a national press conference, put out the issues and share documents evidencing those feeding fat on the IPPIS.

I know that the Profs, Provosts, Dean and HODs who are ASUU members are part of the university senate/management but they cannot employ without the principal officers such as the VC, Registrar, Bursar etc. Their work is to manage academic activities in the institutions. But the issue of corruption through ghost workers, inflated contract budgets are perpetrated by VCs and Bursars.

This ASUU is a fraudulent union seeking to hold fg to ransom. The core of their problem is the fact that the IPPIS system would checkmate double employment in federal universities.

n no more TAX evasions. d scheme has addressed dat properly.

Correct application of Tax deductions, pension deductions and NHF deductions, removal of some unapproved allowances, IPPIS is doing very well.

Don't mind the blasted dummy. The ETF, TERTFUND and the PTF people are benefitting from now would not have been possible had it not been for ASUU's resiliennce over the years since 1992. The IPIS scheme has a lot of discrepancies since it's adoption so ASUU's fears were not unfounded. The FG has simply centralized corruption by adopting a system without putting into consideration the dynamics of University payroll.

But for now, ASUU is seriously not getting it right!!!
thank God Nigerians are beginning to see through the hypocrisy of that bunch of greedy fools called ASUU.
The only thing ASUU is really fighting for is more money for their pockets. Absolutely nothing else matters to them. The student welfare, infrastructure, quality of graduates etc, it does not matter to them. They only pretend to care, so as to hide their true agenda.
Na Buhari fit them sha.
