While the armed bandits and Boko Haram are having a field day in most of the troubled spots in the North with few security personnel to check them.

I think those road blocks by our security personnels are barbaric, and shouldn't be seen in this 21st century! only in Nigeria!

its a medium they use to cash out from their victims (civilians)

That’s not true. South East is the most peaceful region in Nigeria.
More over, Check points does not stop crime.

Although there's nothing wrong with having check points in a strategic positions, but using it to extort the people is the most wicked crime any state can commit on her citizens. Dont support evil

When you lose a war, the winner does everything possible to keep you down. The check points are occupation forces, just that the people are too ignorant to understand.

This is so sad. It is time for all Nigerians to
really put a check on these security operatives.

If we don't act now, we are going to be dead
before our time- we are still suffering from
govt oppression and inadequate social
amenities, that is coupled with Security
oppression.

We all know, that true patriotism is bringing
change that will be of benefit to the society.

This has to stop, if its to run from Borno these soldiers will shamelessly come to the East to
flex muscle, cowards that only act when they are together. A lone Nigerian soldier is a real coward, this is a proven fact, that's why they
love to make call, don't have the stomach to fight one civilian except when their fellow
soldiers come so pathetic and cowardly.

I have lost all the respect I have for our Military
but they don't realize that an unfriendly
environment is express ticket to death.

I wonder if it is the same in the North.
Guess its same way with SARS, Absent in North.
From the situation of things, it seems the country has already divided.
With these ongoing protests, it may be scary to imagine the order that will be given to the police/army in the southeast.
Perhaps, they might target one of their celebrities and tag it accidental discharge. I hope it does not happen.

Don't just sit in ur village and cast aspersion without verification. This niggaz were in the north too before the bab. They just extorted my elder brother last month on our way back from a condolence visit.

It is not about tribe. The police DPO that collected 7000 naira from me at Neni police station when I went to visit my friend was an Igbo man from Enugu state. I drive all the way from Awka to see my friend, after passing through almost 5 police check points. The police fools at my friends hometown stopped me and took me to their station.

That's why Lagos to onitsha, a journey of 5hours takes between 9 to 11 hours. Police, army, road safety, customs checkpoints every 2 kilometres. Sometimes they cause traffic jam of more than 5 kilometres. They're everywhere along onitsha, awka,Enugu Express both the old and new roads. They are also in some towns all over Anambra with road blocks everywhere extorting money from motorists. We are under siege from the Nigeria force.

It's annoying. The last time I traveled from PH to Owerri with my bros, I counted about 24 Checkpoints. That is after the driver had dodged many of them. For an hour journey o! It is shameless what they do on our roads.
Enugu to Nsukka has about 15 checkpoints.
Journey of 40 mins.
It's appalling, our governors this side are simply useless. Is it Ugwuanyi that has A1 in asslicking that is going to demand a stop to that?

sharrap! Your must be a devil's advocate.
Is the crime rate in the region greater than any other region in Nigeria.
What happened to heavily militarizing the NE and NW where everyone can have peace of mind from the dreaded BH, Killer Herdsmen, Bandits ravaging our country.

But despite all these military thieves/police thieves scattered everywhere in the East, Killer Herdsmen are still raking havock in the Region.
They give preferential treatment to them(killer Herdsmen).

So when next you're about to make a comment on a public forum, please try and be logical and not based on hatred and tribal sentiment.
Thanks and do have a blessed Tuesday and week.

Tell me how you're different from people that like oppressing people?
From white supremacist to ethnic oppressor, how are you different?
Have you ever think why they want to break away? Do you know that there's no federal presence in the whole of South East? Only military and police presence?
If you tag this as because of civil war. A war that was fought almost 50yrs ago then you're not different from all those oppressing people.
It's easy to say blacklives matter while still oppressing someone close to you. A black man yourself.

For the sake of humanity, always stand in the path of truth. Everybody must die one day regardless of who they oppressed. But for the little time we have on this earth let's stand for the oppressed and say no to oppression.

I condemn this number of checkpoints in a zone as small as Benue state
