From the situation of things, it seems the country has already divided.
With these ongoing protests, it may be scary to imagine the order that will be given to the police/army in the southeast.
Perhaps, they might target one of their celebrities and tag it accidental discharge. I hope it does not happen.

All these things have solution. The solution is not the ongoing protest.

It's is the readiness of you this reader, and all the other Nigerians to AGREE, IDENTIFY AND DO the right thing for a better Nigeria.

We are working on the way forward, and it will interest all, including you.

Even the police and all law enforcement agents and agencies will love it.

Nigeria can be better. Let's begin the process!

But while we are at this,
Can Vanguard also help Nigerians to make count of the various police check points in all the Western, Southern and Northern states in Nigeria?
So we can have the basis for comparison.

Now, that will be balanced journalism.
Cos this sounds more like one-sided journalism.
The world have gone pass this kind of Journalism reporting.

See them? Instead of going to heavily militarized the NE & NW where bandits, unknown gunmen, BH terrorists are reigning supremely.Alas! They choose a peaceful region to lay siege.

They think they are oppressing the SE not knowing that they are allowing the deteriorating insecurity in these region to worsen some more.

Crude oil in the Nigerdelta is behind the militarization of the southeast.

The north believes it can’t survive without crude oil proceeds.

The southeast is seen as buffer zone for the South south.

So the southeast gets occupied heavily by armed forces.

I traveledFrom Abuja to Kano and counted 3 Army checkpoints, one at Suleja by Zuma Rock, One at Kaduna after the River Kaduna Bridge, then one as you enter Kano.
I traveled Enugu to Portharcourt, I couldn't count the number, they were so many. From one checkpoint I could see another checkpoint in front just 200m apart.
Most of the violent robberies in the East is committed by Fulani bandits and not the locals

The police and army in ABA (the East as a whole )are just something else .You notice suspicious activity and inform them, boom they come for you.Drug dealers settle the police and army then carry out their operations freely. The people engaged in pipeline vandalism after the day , are escorted by those who shall not be named to deliver their ill-gotten product. The air Force men at airport road imo state, close a lane of the single carriage dual lane road, trapping motorist to ensure no commercial motorist escapes paying them

The only logical explanation. But every evil has an expiry date. You forcefully occupy a region, maltreat and marginalize and insult them. They insist on leaving and you use superior military power to cow them and destroy their economy. One day, even this evil will end.

But while we wait, you can't keep someone down without being down yourself. As Nigeria holds Igbos hostage and in derision, it remains down and gets worse by the day.

Very true report...

Each time I travel from Lagos to Port-Harcourt by bus, the number of police and army checkpoints from the relatively shorter distance of Asaba to Port-Harcourt is always greater than the number of check points from Berger to Asaba.

It's quite worrisome that sometimes while at a checkpoint you can already see the next one less than a kilometer away, and the police or army personnel don't care and will still stop and search you even though they sighted you being searched at the previous checkpoint. This is nothing but a seige.

The truth is that South East is under siege. There is no justification for the atrocities and extortion being committed by both police and army in this region. All the evils being perpetuated by security agencies in the whole Nigeria started from South East.

From illegal 50 naira bribe, to military high handedness.

Nigerians should pay attention to whatever that is going on in the South East because it has proven to be a template to whatever most Nigerians wil later experience in their various states and communities.

Don't say it does concern you. It does.

SARS atrocities started in Anambra State and spread to the whole Nigeria.

Illegal police check point started in Onitsha under obasanjo regime, today it is all over the country.

I can go on and on.

Speak against evil going on the south east of Nigeria now, if you don't, it definitely gets to you.

Evil has tendency to multiply unnoticed.
Remember when IPOB was on the street and was being shot at and Nigerians cheered?
Today end sars protesters are being killed and Nigerians are now understanding what IPOB went through
