After scanning my car and diagnosing the issues wrong with it, I was compelled to seek knowledge from youtube which has actually revealed a wide knowledge gap Nigerian mechanics are dangerously deficient in, and funny enough, are actually not rocket science at all! Infact I put it to you that you can actually tutor these guys if you develop an interest in auto repairs.

Such a shame these grease monkeys shoved the scan results aside, and went on with their trial and error. It's like me, being a doctor, not engaging the use of diagnostic equipments in the management of my patients, and banking only on my clinical accuracy in diagnosing cryptic medical cases.

Though the car has been fixed- to the best of their knowledge though, and no longer overheating, but it still shows obvious signs that a guess work was done on it.

I'm an evidence based fixer by default, and it's infact it's one of the reasons I bought this jalopy, so I can acquaint myself of the aetiology behind the signs and symptoms of faulty mechanics in a car, and ofcourse it's management; which would overall furnish me with a firm grasp of basic car parts and components, and their functions.

I hope I enjoy the "ride"

Actually it is not a car that Makes one a mechanic, it is interest and passion... My car rarely have issues but oh boy I love researching and solving car issues... sometime I smile the smile of joy when I see a check engine Light or hear a noise from my ride.

Thanks bro! Been cruising round town with it sinceMonday, and the true colors of the AC has started showing itself.

Guess what? It's chilled as fvck! Gotta reduce it to the minimum make I no go get frostbites

I even smoke in the car with the windows rolled up, and I no dey feel anything. Abeg is that good?

Though na only the occasional going off when I'm trying to turn in a tight corner and have to reverse and move forward again, also the check engine light continues to blink, and I'm so worried cos I know a serious issue is going on. I plan taking the car to Yola tomorrow to see if i can get a reliable autotech...

Apart from that, I've been perfecting my driving skills with my left hand...driving sweet for night meen! Na for morning people dey always shout ontop my head, as hand never strong for holds up

The blinking CEL points to a critical issue. It's a good move taking it for repairs tomorrow. Still update us how it went when you are done.

I know a lot about cars but I'm NOT a tech. My HUSBAND Glen is! An ASE certified master tech of 35 years! Most of what I know I learnt from him, some from my uncles the rest from owning shop in Houston and learning some tricks from my techs. I don't have room left in my brain to learn much else! Book too plenty. That being said,I can run circles around most of the "techs" I've seen in Naija and on NL
