So our university lecturer can develop solutions to how they can be pay and push for it implementation but can not develop solutions to how Nigeria problems (electricity, government recruitment processes to absolve students they taught, procurement processes, refineries, computerising government processes to eliminate inefficient civil servants, etc.).

Government just approved 20 billion naira for e-procurement, if ASUU has helped the government, they may have been able to help the government to save close to N10bn and force the government to invest it on Nigerian universities.

I am sure sure they have reached some agreements already smiley
The adjournment, is for the ASUU exco to carry the message to the branch executives for deliberation and ratification! If the branch excos agree with the national excos then end of strike is next week! cheesy

This government is a joke. They cannot bring more than 20 billion naira to help the universities but they can feed imaginary school pupils with billions per month!

I really can not understand your argument but you should note that ASUU members have always been proffering solutions to Nigeria problems, scientifically, technically and socially but government have never been looking their way angry All their researches end up on the pages of international journals and the whites always feed on these results to add to their own developments sad

Some headlines are not just deceitful but reek of illiteracy and unprofessionalism.
We all know how ASUU operate, they would have to return to their members across all universities and table the offer of the government which was the reason they adjourned the meeting to 21st. Why make it look like it ended in shambles or that there is no hope of the strike being called off next week? Income inconclusive kill you there.
Bunch of unprofessional nits.

Inconclusive doesn't mean it ended in shambles!

From the post you quoted, it reads develop and push, did they push?

Anyway, for any lecturer to be relevant in his or her fields, to get to be recommended for professorship or maintain his/her professorship; they must write for research journals and publications. And the research must make sense, so, those researches you are referring to may not be for the purpose of helping the government but helping themselves to attain and maintained their career.

And again, you are referring to individual ASUU members and not ASUU as a union. Has ASUU as a union proffer solution(s) to any Nigeria problems before? If at all they have, what did they do to make it a reality? At least in the last 10 years, ASUU must have gone on strike for over 3 years accumulatively to get the government dance to their demands on what and how they MUST be paid.

First thing first. You give and other accept or reject. If you say you don't give because people will not accept, the first question will be how many people have you given something and they rejected.

In this case, I am talking about ASUU determination to force the government, their employer, to accept their solutions on how they will be paid. So, if we assume ASUU has been providing solutions to Nigeria problems why not forcing the government to accept such solutions, must the force be on issue that will benefit them only?
