2. Protesters retaliate or retreat..if they retreat they have won, but if they retaliate, a deadly conflict will start
3. Government gives the military the go ahead to curb the conflict
4. Heavy presence of the military and the return of youths to various universities and NYSC camps reduces the momentum of the protest
