So, my car's mpg dropped recently and I had a panel beater check the Catalyst (after checking other possible cause and no culprit was identified).

Upon opening the said catalyst, it was empty. My panel beater advised that we weld a pipe across and seal it back, which was done. But the "engine light" comes up (doesn't come up when engine is cool, especially in the mornings but when I hit the road, the light comes up).

The question is, most kazeems here don't know that 02 spacer thing. Can a spark plug adapter do the same thing? (I have a 16mm type).

personally I have not welded the O2 spacer before in any of my cars, the idea of O2 space is to extend the space between the O2 sensor and the escaping fumes of the exhaust.

If the O2 sensor can bolt on the plug adapter, why not give it a try to eliminate the catalyst efficiency code. Then come back and tell us the result.

How this catalyst, oxygen sensor and o2 spacer can help fuel efficiency is a misery to me I no fit solve. U can incur a lot of cost in fixing these things to get better mpg and in the end, all na wash.

Gazzuzz wan sell catalyst but I see him thread wey he do 02 spacer construction. Na that construction I go do. Since e go fool my ECU, even wen catalyst no de.
