Man dey position himself for 2023 presidency.
I'm an Igbo man, but right now the focus for me has changed. It's no longer about Igbo presidency. It's about the right changes happening to this entity called Nigeria.
We can no longer continue recycling the same crop of people who has left us in this mess.
Any politician who has been around long enough to know and discuss with people like Awolowo, Azikiwe, Shagari, IBB and the rest should all go and rest.
It is youth o'clock.

Re: Orji Kalu: Awolowo Told Me He Did Not Trust Babangida by kayjay69(m): 4:28pm On Oct 18, 2020
I guess Awolowo learned the two types of military officers after he had been tricked into Gowon's government and subsequently dealt with.

As much as I love the man for all he did for my people, he is one of the reasons we are in the conundrum we find ourselves today. His greatest failing was his unquechable thirst for power. Not saying he did not deserve it, he was by far the most qualified and prepared of them all. But in my view, he soon abandoned principles he agitated for: strong regional governments and states formed on the basis ethnic and sub-ethnic groups and embraced a federalist structure that was bound to lead us nowhere.

He was a visionary but as soon as he saw the unitary government (the biggest mistake of them all) formed by Ironsi, he saw it as the perfect opportunity to ascend to the throne. And the rest we know is history.

Those of you who've doubted OUK's story about his encounter with Awolowo are uninformed or disingenuous. OUK has been privileged to dine and wine with world powers and leaders since 1983. He had the privilege to interview and interact with Margaret Thatcher and other world leaders in the mid-late 80s, how much more Awo. Time was in the mid-late 80s when MKO Abiola's Concord Newspaper and Iwuanyawu's Champions Newspaper, despite the mighty of their respective owners, used to contract him independently and rely on him to interview some world leaders for their papers due to the depth of his connection and contact with global leaders. Don't think that he's been late Mbakwe and IBB's most trusted boy for nothing.

Chief Obafemi Awolowo is one of the greatest men to have walked on earth. A once in a lifetime sage. If only he got to rule us, Nigeria would have been a model nation.

Rat poison

Awolowo should trust himself first

Awolowo a disfigured character who thought he could poke nature without consequences, he died shamefully and disgracefully regretting his actions...

You should cease to bear that moniker, because your utterances are in stark contrast of the bearer of the name you used for your moniker cry.

Going through many threads here on nairaland

I discover a trend where persons from a region of Nigeria are always quick to cast aspersions and besmear the person of leaders from other regions, to include Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu

I discover that these elements despite the decay going on in their part of the country and the excessive corrupt tendencies of their immediate leaders assume the ostrich posture to matters negatively affecting their region

As much as we Yorubas believes in the indivisibility of Nigeria and prefers mostly the unity of our Fatherland Nigeria, we cannot afford to close our eyes and ears while some untrained and unrespectful elements goes on derogatory name calling exercise on revered yoruba leaders

It is widely known that the yoruba tribe remains the most accommodating and the single thread holding Nigeria's unity together thus every other tribe in the country strongly believes and runs to the yoruba region for economic and security survival.

To this end we wish to advice all and sundry to be objective towards the matter at hand. This is no time for name calling as we all are equally guilty of whatever we may wish to blame any other Nigerian for at this period in our national evolution

Since Charity is said to begin at home let's all Nigerian citizens especially the youths become more sober and introspective and start speaking up on injustices right from our immediate local government to the state and then to the federal

We believe in the unfolding New Nigeria and as such we the youths especially must ensure not to repeat the same mistakes made by our forebears

LONG LIVE THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA
