The French Revolution Of 1789 Looks Like Nigeria by musicwriter(m): 10:08pm On Oct 19, 2020 |
Though I've left Nairaland but I couldn't just resist commenting on the ongoing pre-revolution in Nigeria. I decided to take a look back at the French revolution of 1789. Guess what? It started just like Nigeria's, and so far everything is proceeding as the same. 1. The French revolution began because the king and ruling class ran the country into bankruptcy. The Nigerian government has ticked this box. 2. As a result, there was extreme hardship in the land and price of bread began to increase everyday. So, you'll go buy bread today for N100 and tomorrow the price could be N120, and next tomorrow it could be N150 and so on.......... to the point bread was rationed. Even to the point French citizens had to work for some one or two days to be able to buy one loaf of bread. With bag of rice going from N8000 in 2015 to N20000 in 2020 in Nigeria, the Nigerian government ticked this box. 3. In the midst of the hunger, the king imposed more taxes on poor hungry people. With petrol, kerosene, electricity, etc bills out of the roof, Nigeria government ticked this box. 4. Hunger and desperation started widespread resentment among the French populace. Nigerian citizens ticked this box and everybody with a brain knew for long that Nigerians are not happy. Even former president Obasanjo had warned several times that ''Nigeria is sitting on a powder keg.'' 5. The king ''proposed a financial reform package that included a universal land tax from which the privileged classes would no longer be exempt''. Before this time, the elites and ruling class did not pay tax. So, the king agreed to some compromise. Nigeria government has ticked this box by agreeing to reform SARS. From here, the events diverged with so many other variables. However, in summary, the anger later turned to the ruling class versus the poor masses. New demands were made. And more and more demands were made by the revolutionaries until they just decided to remove the ruling class entirely and become the rulers they want. Do you understand what I just said? Its like Nigerian youths decide tomorrow that no more negotiation with Buhari and the ruling class. We must remove the ruling class and rule the country by ourselves. Beautiful!. The ruling class were on the run. LOL!. Things suddenly got out of control and riots erupted up the point the king and his wife were beheaded. More ruling class were beheaded to the point if you ever made a comment that doesn't support the revolution, you'll become a suspect yourself and risk being beheaded. Many revolution leaders themselves were victim of the revolution. Those of you somewhere saying ''this protest is getting out of hand'' you're not ready for a revolution. Nigerians own the Nigerian constitution. If we want we can suspend the constitution ourselves and release every prisoner from prison, if we so wish. In a revolution the people are in charge not the government. In a revolution Nigerians will create what they want, not the government. The government has no choice if we want!! Make more demands from the government!!. Ask for death sentence for corruption. Ask for restructuring now!. Ask whatever you want. Do it now or never!!. Nigerians, you may never get this opportunity again in 50 years. Just watch the documentary of the French revolution. No wonder historians often cite the French revolution as the mother of all revolutions. Please download and share with your friends on facebook, whatsapp, twitter. etc. Enjoy! The country should just split.. We are tired of this false marriage with the north.. They are truly the problem of nigeria.. They have different ideology to what we in the south have.. They can easily be brainwashed and manipulated. We don't need that anymore.. Enough is enough.. Nigeria leaders are truly heartless, hopeless, wicked and evil. How can a person wake up tell nigerians that snake swallow the money? What kind of rubbish is that? Them don see us finish.. I swear.. 7 Likes |

That is the mistake a lot of People make Nigeria is not France . Nigeria is 250 different Tribes with at least 3 different Religions. Buhari will have at least 40% support no matter how incompetent he may be for no other reason than Tribe, Region and his Faith. See how MASSOB is singing Peter Obi's Praises after his shoot to kill order ended the lives of many of their members and their bodies were dumped in the River. Would they have done the same for Tinubu?I IPOB has suddenly lost their voice and forgot to report the Peter Obi to the ICC Hague, EU,AU, USA and Amnesty international. Meanwhile they have reported Tinubu who killed nobody to those international bodies That is why Nigeria no be France 6 Likes |

lymelyte:.. And you have governors, senators, house of Representatives members, chaimen, house of assembly members, councilors, rich business men etc who have been embezzling your money for all these years. But you are not blaming them, all you do is to blame other regions for your region's under development. I don't know how some people reason in this life. 2 Likes

Good. Les Miseables The movie talks about the French revolution https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1q82twrdr0U Do you hear the people sing? Singing a song of angry men? It is the music of a people Who will not be slaves again When the beating of your heart Echoes the beating of the drums There is a life about to start When tomorrow comes Will you join in our crusade? Who will be strong and stand with me? Beyond the barricade Is there a world you long to see? Then join in the fight That will give you the right to be free Do you hear the people sing? Singing a song of angry men? It is the music of a people Who will not be slaves again When the beating of your heart Echoes the beating of the drums There is a life about to start When tomorrow comes Will you give all you can give So that our banner may advance Some will fall and some will live Will you stand up and take your chance? The blood of the martyrs Will water the meadows of France Do you hear the people sing? Singing a song of angry men? It is the music of a people Who will not be slaves again When the beating of your heart Echoes the beating of the drums There is a life about to start When tomorrow comes |

Christistruth00:IPOB has never lost her voice. We stated right from the onset our priority while supporting the current protest. We're getting to the stage where we will join fully. As you can see, the later stage where ANYTHING can be requested. So baflatani, wishing that we lose focus and start attacking Peter Obi remains a wishful dream. Buhari has killed more Igbos than any other Igbo man yet he's not our priority. We know where we will engage. Like the French monarchy like the fulani elites... The French revolution is one history I enjoyed reading. Freedom is near. |
