LOL! not at all, no need for that cos there will be freedom of expression, interraction, and establishment, it is just about comforming to the rules in that region.

The six regions are the best template.
Furthermore, if I may add, creating regions based on ethnic sentiments may actually lead us to be worse off. Although I am Yoruba, as long as their is greater autonomy for the Yorubas in Kwara and Kogi to do as they please in the Middle Belt region, then I am okay with them staying there. Creating ethnic regions in a country as divided tribally as Nigeria will only do us more harm than good. If you want an example, just look at Ethiopia. They did the same thing you proposed, and now they're on the edge of breaking up, as the Tigray region has vowed to not recognize the federal govt as the official govt. We don't need that here

Well, I am here to tell you that the 1963 constituiton did not make corruption harder. Politicans were still stealing. If it did make things harder, Nzeogwu and Ifeajuana would have stayed in the barracks.(and chinua achebe won't have written 'A man of the people...which depicts corruption in Nigerian politics then in the person of the main character chief nana)

The reason why looting is so bad in Nigeria is because Nigeria is a resources dependent country. So, if Big Politican steals one billion naira, the sales of oil/cocoa/palmoil/groundnut that happen tomorrow can replace the money stolen...

Also, resource dependent countries like Nigeria don't depend on people's taxes...just the income comming in from oil today . groundnut, cocoa, palm oil, cotton, tin and columbite yesterday....so whoever controls the distrbution of the money can skim a bit sans consequences.(even now our tax to gdp ratio is one of the lowest in the world)

They are corrupt in the Industrialised world. The problem is, the source of income in the industrial west is taxes, and manufactring. And they cannot affford Nigerian level corruption because it would harm their earning power...so they fight against it. (That's also why China is super strict against corruption. If someone tried to steal money for electricity projects in china like they did in Nigeria...it would harm chinese industries, on which china relies on for its income, and on which its elite rely on for their riches, and on which the poor rely on for jobs....not good. )
The restructuring being talked about is not just about how to tackle corruption, the centre is just too powerful. People want a greater share of their resources and sovereignty. People want a weak centre and strong federating units, as a true federation should be. When the Regions and federating units are determined, it is now left for them to make their own laws, develop at their own pace, harness their resources and tackle whatever problems they have, corruption or otherwise.

Under the old 1963 constitution, looting and corruption was stilll around back then

I'll leave you with this quote from Nzeogwu's coup speech

If Nzeogwu was calling out corrupt people in 1966, that means the 1963 constiution obviously did no good in preventing corruption.

Nigeria before 1966 was not a perfect country. The poltical elite was just as corrupt, and the tribalism and such was just as bad.
Very few people understand the real problem with Nigeria, they just bandy Words around "Restructure" " Go back to the Region" bla bla bla. They fail to understand how nations are built. Kudos to you for bringing this thought to the table.

Yea. I agree and have been campaigning for everything you said. Use the geopolitical zones as federating units, with resource control, regional policing, and everything else, That will be the quickest way for the country to experience growth
